It is hard to fathom that the end of the year has arrived already. Despite the horror called Donald Trump that has been released on America, the year has been a pretty good one both personally and professionally. As you can see from the cover of this month's issue, it is harken- ing a change for Diversity Rules Magazine. I have fully outlined those changes in my article on page 4, but to make a long story short, Diversity Rules is going to be revamped -- both content wise and format. 2018 should bring a publication that still brings voice to the LGBTQ community. How- ever, it will be doing so in a differ- ent manner. As the cover states, the world is in our hands and we must begin to look beyond sexual orientaiton and gender identity. Instead of trying to label ourselves we must acknowledge we are humans first and that our primary responsibil- ity should be to better the world around us. Given the dire political environ- ment in which we live at the mo- ment, the reality can never be any clearer that the health and well- being of our world and its people are in our hands. Not only in the hands of our political leaders but more importantly, in our own hands. e fate and destiny of our world as we know it is directly related to how much each per- son individually takes an interest and becomes active in safeguard- ing Mother Earth for generations of humans to come after us. We must not fail them. We cannot fail them. We must begin to look at the big- ger picture and how the power of enlightened individuals can change the course of history, and the des- tiny of our planet.
