IT'S OUT OF BALANCE. To date in the last two years, we have spent nearly Two Hundred Thousand County Tax Dollars ($200,000) on County Road 350 North (Cart Road) and intersecting County Road 250 West: two roads which primarily benefit Commissioner Brian Davis, his family and a handful of neighbors. While this is going on, District One Commissioner Mark Flint is oblivious to the fact that he was elected to represent his ENTIRE district. These two Commissioners have hired a County Garage Superintendent and allowed him to deny an entire district (District 3) basic county services. The Garage Superintendent is supposed to work for the whole county, but, lately the Superintendent has made a political game out of his position to ensure that his own lack of leadership continues on into the next administration. duffl e bag in a closet were: aquarium tubing, a bottle of camp fuel, a gallon of ammo- nium-nitrate crystals, a red pill grinder with white resi- due, digital scales and mul- tiple burnt foils and a 'one- hitter' pipe. A class A felony is the Tuesday, October 16, the Pike County Special Re- sponse Team went to 805 W. most serious class of felony in Indiana, exceeded only by murder. It carries a sentence of 20 to 50 years. At about 11:47 p.m. stated in a probable cause affi davit that Yaw admitted to police the marijuana on the bar was his. During a search of the residence and outbuildings, police found a plate with residue that fi eld- tested positive for metham- phetamine, plastic tubing, a piece of a battery casing that had been stripped off, a hypodermic needle, a cell phone containing text mes- sages about drug activity, a half-full camp fuel contain- er, a container of salt and a coffee fi lter with brown resi- due. All are items commonly used in the manufacturing of meth. Also found was a one- hitter wooden container with the smell of burnt marijuana. The investigation of this residence continues. How much more can our county endure? Our young people are leaving because of the lack of good jobs. We have a bridge in Winslow which has been ignored for years, pipes sticking up from holes in county roads with caution tape to warn approaching drivers, chip and seal roads reverting to gravel from inattention. As if this weren't enough throw in a political environment nasty enough to scare off any industry that might give us a second look. Lack of leadership, plain and simple. District 1 Commissioner to serve all of Pike County, not just the special interest groups. pave and I don't want or need the insurance. I am running for I have no personal road to I truly believe Pike County has potential. We are like a diamond in the rough that needs proper leadership to shine. From Petersburg in the north to the small towns and countryside to the south, we're diverse, but, we all have one thing in common. We want to see our County improve. If elected, I would like to stop the wasteful spending and focus on the needs and services that our county expects from our tax dollars. I would work for a road maintenance plan to ensure that people are treated fairly, a hiring policy for county openings to ensure qualified people get hired, and hiring and retaining a qualified county engineer. I want to work with our existing industry in an effort to see them grow. If elected, I promise to be open minded to advice and criticism to solve our problems. Let's bring dignity and accountability back into the Commissioner's office so that we can ALL say, "Job well done!"
