FRESH LOOKS A TRIO OF HIGH-PROFILE NEW STORE OPENINGS HAVE CHICAGO FASHIONISTAS CHOMPING AT THE BIT FOR FALL. BY CHRISTINA CLEMENTE Is there a better time to revamp your wardrobe than autumn? We think not. And this season—from trendy womenswear to high-end moto jackets and handcrafted watches— Chicagoans will have plenty of chic pieces to choose from. Stylish women's fashion house Aritzia has opened a sleek new Gold Coast location (923 N. Rush St.; aritzia.com) that will serve as the new Chicago flagship and will feature an expansive assortment of designs. "We're excited to grow our presence in Chicago," says Founder and CEO Brian Hill of the 7,800-square-foot space, "especially at such an iconic fashion location as Rush Street." Two blocks away, Shinola is the place for custom American-made timepieces, monogrammed accesso- ries, and more from the burgeoning Detroit brand, whose new Gold Coast location (1009 N. Rush St.; shinola.com) is double the size of its Bucktown shop. "Chicago is a very important market for us," says Shinola President Jacques Panis. "Manufacturing is in the DNA here." Further from the Mag Mile, edgier types can opt for motorcycle jackets, leather shoes, and T-shirts from Schott NYC, which recently opened the doors to its first Chicago outpost (1509 N. Milwaukee Ave., 773-799- 8250; schottnyc.com). "Chicago is the real deal," enthuses Jason Schott, COO and fourth-generation leader of the 1913-established family biz. "People here appreciate quality durable goods, and we want to give them a home base in the Midwest to have access to our entire collection." .
