dan uslan Follow me on Twitter at @danuslan and on Facebook at facebook.com/danieluslan. 36  MICHIGANAVEMAG.COM PHOTOGRAPHY BY JEFF SCHEAR (LUDACRIS, DICKEY); ROB GRABOWSKI (MADDON) I've been getting so many questions about our new parent company, Modern Luxury, and how it has impacted business. Here are just a few of the incredibly exciting things on the horizon, a direct result of the acquisition: In 2018, we'll increase our frequency to eight issues a year, up from six—a direct reflection of a growing demand for print from readers and advertisers. It means delivering even more quality editorial coverage, as well as deepening relationships with longstanding partners like @Properties, Jameson Sotheby's, Baird & Warner, Constellation Brands, Marshall Pierce & Co., Beam Suntory, MillerCoors, James & Sons Jewelers, Burdi, Loquercio Automotive, and so many other valued long-term supporters. And, accordingly, we'll double our staff to the size required to continue to deliver the city's best content, experiences, and brand activations. As I'm prone to say—with our upcoming Winter Issue marking the start of our 10th year in business, no less—you grow or go. There's even more thrilling news ahead: In September, we'll toast the opening of The Sinclair, the latest project from real estate developers Randy and Steve Fifield of Fifield & Co. And we'll help Lennar open the doors to its new Oak Park space, The Emerson. Both properties are sleek, sexy, and demonstrate that, while summer might be wrapping up, there's plenty to love about the great indoors. Please keep asking me, "How's business?" My answer is, "We're making magazines great again, here at Michigan Avenue, a Modern Luxury publication!" clockwise from above left: Luda's in the (London)House! Celebrating our Summer Issue with cover star Chris "Ludacris" Bridges; enjoying a Peroni at AshoreThing, our celebration of summer, with Modern Luxury CEO Michael Dickey and Oxford Hotels SVP George Jordan; at the Service Club's Day On the Terrace with Karen Peters, Kimberly Gleeson, and Zoraida Sambolin; and loving the action at Cubs manager Joe Maddon's "Try Not to Suck Celebrity Golf Classic" with Jerry Lasky and former Michigan Avenue cover star Maddon.
