SR 57, Petersburg. Anyone who worked or hung out at the Drive-In in Arthur is welcome. MASON, FERGUSON AND GREENE FAMILY GATHERING Spurgeon, Indiana—The descendants of the Michael Mason and Rada Ferguson Mason Greene families had a family picnic on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Jordan Memorial Park in Spurgeon. Diana Mason Broshears, Shirley Mason Crecelius, Linda Mason Weitkamp, and Ivan Mason Jr. served as hosts and the families came together for a noon pitch-in meal. Prayer was offered by Ivan Mason Jr. Following the home- cooked meal, pictures of the family were taken out- side the shelter house. Pic- tures, displays, stories, his- tories, and special memories were shared by many of the members of the family. Mike Mason prepared a booklet containing pictures, family tree information, and other interesting facts for family members in attendance. The children playing and visit- ed with one another on the playground equipment at the park and the softball field. There were fifty-one members and four visitors attending this year's gath- ering. Descendants of the How- ard Mason and Elinor Toole family were Mike (Mickey) Mason, and his wife Mary, of Boonville; Descendant of the Aaron Mason and El- sie McCrary family was Ja- nis (Richardson) Mason, of West Baden; Descendants of the Simeon Mason and Hel- en Strunk family were Diana Mason Broshears, her son, Jason and wife Heather, and their son Simeon, all of Oak- land City. Descendants of the Har- old and Geneva Pancake family were Aasta Mason Carver and husband David, of Elberfeld, their daughter Amy Carver Mulesky and husband Ray, of Evansville, Mark Mason and his wife Jane, their daughter Kristie Stackhouse and husband Tony, and children Austin and Jordyn, all of Prince- ton. Ginger Mason Cary and her husband Ron, of Willow Park, T X. RUSSELL REUNION The 56th annual Russell reunion was Sunday, July 9 at Muren Church of God fel- lowship hall. A basket lunch was served, with Marcia Russell giving table grace. Prizes were awarded to Al- berta Russell, oldest; Au- brey Pride, youngest; Dan Russell, traveling farthest; and Sandy Russell, door prize. Officers elected were, Lloyd Russell, president; Bodey Robertson, vice-pres- ident; Rebecca Russell, trea- surer; and Becky Pride, sec- retary. There were 80 members in attendance. AMBER RUBLE NAMED TO FRANKLIN COLLEGE DEAN'S LIST Amber Lynn Ruble, a sophomore, daughter of William Ruble, of Evans- ville and ReGena Ruble, of Petersburg was named to Franklin College dean's list for the spring 2017 semes- ter. Students named to the dean's list have achieved academic distinction by earning a 3.5 grade point average or above. PARKE NAMED TO PRESIDENT'S LIST AT FRANKLIN COLLEGE Darian Reanna Parke, a junior, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Monty Parke, of Oakland City was recent- ly named to Franklin Col- lege president's list for the spring 2017 semester. Stu- dents named to the presi- dent's list have achieved ac- ademic distinction by earn- ing a 4.0 grade point aver- age. AUSTIN HUGHES ACCEPTED INTO HEART OF THE HOUSE Erskine Green Training Institute (EGTI), a pro- gram of The Arc of Indi- ana Foundation, announc- es that Austin Hughes, of Winslow, was recently ac- cepted into its Heart of the House (hotel housekeep- ing) program to begin Ju- ly 31 at the EGTI location in Muncie. The Arc of Indiana Foun- dation exists to create post- secondary training oppor- tunities for people with dis- abilities that empower and lead to meaningful employ- ment through its program, Erskine Green Training Institute. A fter receiving training at EGTI, students apply those skills through internships at the Court- yard Muncie, Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Co., and at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
