"Pat" Padgett, 96, of Indianapolis, formerly of Pike County, passed away July 14, 2017. She was born April 14, 1921, in Cameron, Texas, to Ola and Ada (Stutts) Pratt. Altha enjoyed being a homemaker, working in her lawn, gardening, and get- ting together with friends and family. Her greatest enjoyment was fishing and catching the biggest fish, which she usually did. She was preceded in death by her loving hus- band, Clifton Padgett; par- ents, Ola and Ada Pratt; son, Wendell Padgett; and grand- daughter, Lori Padgett. BET TY MAE CALDEMEYER Betty Mae Caldemeyer, 86, of Stendal, passed away at 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born on Septem- ber 11, 1930, in Flat Rock, Ill., to James and Lorene (Preston) Blount. She married Norman F. Caldemeyer on August 30, 1952, in Stendal. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Stendal, and enjoyed quilt- ing and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman F. Caldemeyer, who died Au- gust 14, 2015; one brother, James Blount, Jr.; and one sister, JoAnn Goodrum. She is survived by eight children, Brenda ( Jerry) Houchin, Sharon ( Jim) Ro- ettger, Gary (Karen) Calde- meyer, Rita (Mark) Wil- liams and William ( Jolene) Caldemeyer, all of Stendal, Larry (Denise) Caldemey- er, of Lynnville, Karen (Rod- ney) Dixon, of Winslow, and Kutina (Albert) Kline, of Holland; four siblings, Jean Eckert, of Birdseye, Carolyn Parks, of Boon- ville, Jerry Blount, of Vel- pen, and Donald Blount, of Stendal; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grand- children. "Fred" Doern- er, 78, of Somerville, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at his home. He was born Aug. 3, 1938, in Somerville, to Clarence and Bertha (Ahlemann) Doerner. Fred had lived in Somer- ville all of his life. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 2002, after working there for 39 years. He served in the Indiana National Guard for eight years. He attended the Somerville Wesleyan Church and enjoyed sing- ing, collecting albums and recording his music. He was a hard worker, often work- ing two jobs. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marcia (Church) Doerner, whom he married Nov. 25, 1960 ; five children, Kent (Mari- lyn) Doerner, Keith Doern- er and Aaron (Sylvia) Do- erner, all of Somerville, To- nya Doerner, of Princeton, and Michelle (David) Pas- swaiter, of Somerville; sis- ter, Mary Siekman, of Mack- ey; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Terry Siek- man. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday July 19, 2017, at Corn-Colvin Fu- neral Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Monty Mahoney and Rev. David Brandon of- ficiating. Burial will follow in the Townsley Cemetery near Mackey. JAMES RUSSELL KLIPSCH James Russell Klipsch, 87, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017. He was born November 12, 1929, in Winslow, to the late John O. and Eva (Har- din) Klipsch. He was a 1949 graduate of Winslow High School and worked 37 years at Overhead Door Company in Evansville. He was a mem- ber of Trinity United Meth- odist Church and Carpen- ter's Local 90, both of Evans- ville. James and his wife, Mary Kay, have been happi- ly married for 66 years. He enjoyed traveling, especial- ly to visit family. James was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Keith Klipsch. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay (Potter) Klipsch; children, John P. (Connie) Klipsch, Dana J. (Lillian) Klipsch, Teresa J. Sharp, Theodore P. (Monique) Klipsch, and Andrew T. (Melanie) Klipsch; son-in- law, Joe Cowherd; 11 grand- children; 11 great-grandchil- dren; two great-great-grand- children; and sister, Barbara (George) Hollon. She was born May 7, 1954, in Huntingburg, to Alva and Joan (Balsmeyer) Leistner; and was united in marriage to Dordon "Duke" Hartke on January 22, 1977, at Sa- lem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg. She worked as a licensed practical nurse, was a mem- ber of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Stendal, was ac- tive in the Pike County 4- H Club and Lockhart Town- ship Community Center, and enjoyed helping family and friends whenever possible. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dor- don "Duke" Hartke, on Jan- uary 9, 2007; her father, Alva Leistner; and grandparents. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle (Eric) Conway, of Stendal; her son, Bran- don Hartke, of Stendal; her mother, Joan Leistner, of Holland; her mother-in- law, Mary Louise Hartke, of Stendal; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Rich- ard (Charlene) Leistner, of Huntingburg, Ronnie (Car- ol) Leistner, of Holland and Randy (Bobbie) Leistner, of Holland; three sisters and three brothers-in-law, Kar- en (Mark) Lubbehusen, of Dale, Connie (Mike) Over- bey, of Holland, and Susie (Rich) Peter, of Hunting- burg; three grandchildren, Avarie, Carson and Emory; and by nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born on October 12, 1934, in Algiers, to Emit and Myrtle (Stockenger) Flint. He was a retired farmer and bus driver for over 25 years. He was also a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Petersburg, a member of the Oddfellows, a member of the Advisory Board to the Washington Twp. Trustees, and a member of the Peters- burg Fire Department Terri- tory Board. He was preceded in death by his wife, Velva (Evans) Flint; parents, Emit and Myrtle Flint; sisters, Odyne McCullough, Glennis Kreig and Evelyn Lucas; broth- ers, Donald Flint and Low- ell Flint. He is survived by a son, Mark (Susan) Flint, of Pe- tersburg; a grandson, Josh (Kiersten) Flint; a grand- daughter, Jamie Hardin; and great-grandchildren, Brayden Flint, and Alli and Max Hardin. He was born on January 18, 1960, in Evansville, to Arbie and Louellen (Mc- Dowell) Lance. He was a coal miner and laborer at Five Star Mining. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Abbie Brock; and a sister, Carmilla Brock. He is survived by his wife, Nina Barlow Brock, whom he married in December 1995; a son, Edward Diskey, of Petersburg; three broth- ers, Eldon (Cheryl) Mc- Dowell and Kevin (Diane) Brock, both of Petersburg, and Keith (Karri) Brock, of Winslow; a sister, Joella (Marty) Stafford, of Peters- burg; and many nieces and nephews.
