The fête, an "Art Deco Demolition," was hosted by PEG Properties in partnership with First Republic Bank and Gibson Sotheby's International Realty at the iconic Olde Dutch Cottage Candy shop, the future site of the new building. The elegant Parisian-style lofts are slated to open in the spring. Guests enjoyed light bites by Max Ultimate Food, Bully Boy libations, flapper-style entertainers, and a candy bar to benefit South End Youth Baseball. The Finnish design house, known since 1951 for being a leader in bold patterns and colorful designs, returned to the market where it first entered the US more than 50 years ago. The event was attended by a mix of longtime admirers from Design Research, and young, prominent Finns in the area such as Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask and girlfriend Jasmiina Nikkila. Guests sipped libations from Solerno and Reyka vodka, and DJ Mario Papathanasiou spun tunes throughout the evening.
