Ladies gathered at the Log Ends Farm Bed and Breakfast just east of Petersburg, Indiana for the first an- nual Women's Learning Circle. This event was a hosted by the Pike and Gibson County SWCDs and was free for any women landowners or producers to attend. Started by an organi- zation called Women- 4theLand, the Women's Learning Circles are events specific tailored to the female landowner or farmer. An Iowa study found that women landowners and farmers have a strong connec- tion to conser vation and land stewardship. They are deeply committed to healthy farmland, farm families and rural communities. However, they may not be aware of existing resources that can help them. Women4theLand (W4L) is a partnership of agricultural and natural resource conser vation agencies and organiza- tions working together to provide information, networking, education and resources to Indiana women landowners and farmers. You can find the Pike County SWCD on Facebook to stay tuned to when our next Wom- en's Learning Circle will be held.
