Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo celebrates after scoring what would become the game-winning run in the 10th inning of Game Seven of the 2016 World Series against the Cleveland Indians. BY J.P. ANDERSON Few Chicagoans felt the sting of the Cubs' World Series drought more poignantly than Harry Caray's Restaurant Group CEO Grant DePorter. The company went so far as to purchase and publicly deto- nate the dreaded "Bartman ball" in 2004, then served the remnants in a "curse-ending sauce." So it's only fit- ting that the group's own Chicago Sports Museum has snagged an incredible array of souvenirs from last year's championship run. "Sports is a religion in Chicago, and sports memorabilia are its holy rel- ics," explains DePorter, who has compiled what is believed to be the world's largest collection of Cubs World Series memorabilia. Gems include Addison Russell's World Series grand slam ball, Kris Bryant's cleats, David Ross's catch- er's gear, and Joe Maddon's "We Did Not Suck" T-shirt. All are now on display—and sure to leave any Cubs fan smiling. 835 N. Michigan Ave., Seventh Fl., 312-202-0500; chicagosportsmuseum.com SCENE SOURCE: The
