The action by the National Trust for Historic Preservation puts more pressure on avoiding building new structures at the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservancy. All three domes closed for part of 2016 after con- crete fell, creating a public safety issue. "Rather than needlessly sacri- fice this unique national treasure, local leaders owe it to the public to continue to explore a solution that preserves the Domes for the bene- fit and enjoyment of future gener- ations," National Trust President and CEO Stephanie Meeks said in a statement.
