Rebeccah Smith Staff Writer Passengers is a movie with an atmosphere unlike any otherr!! Awesome movie with a deep meaning and great acting! It is a really useful app and I recommend it to everyone. Arts and Entertainment Page 5 March 10. 2017 'e Shack' wonderfully shocks 'Need' 'Couch to 5k' influences people 'I Decided' gives catchy vibes 'Passengers' surprises Very interesting and intriguing book. In May 2007, author William P. Young released his Christian fiction novel titled 'The Shack'. Ten years later, it was made into a movie using the same name. The 2017 film, 'The Shack', was released on March 3 and included actors such as Sam Worthington, Octavia Spencer, and Tim McGraw. 'The Shack' starts off introducing the main protagonist, Mackenzie Allen Phillips (Sam Worthington), and his childhood. The film shows how Mack grew up with an abusive father for some of his life, and it also reveals his Christian faith in church scenes. Then it pans to later in Mack's life when he and his three children go on a camping trip in the Oregon wilderness. During this camping trip, Mack's youngest daughter On the Android app store, there are dozens of running programs that promise to help their users get into shape in no time. I don't think fondly of apps that promise to get you into shape, because most of the time it doesn't work. However, my mother and I have started to use a running app called 'C25K - 5K Running Trainer' and I can say that, with determination, it is effective. 'C25K' stands for Couch to 5K and aims towards helping your body get ready to participate in a 5K run. The app is created by 'Zen Labs Fitness' and includes forums posted by producers Big Sean's seemingly ambitious fourth studio album 'I Decided' portrays Big Sean as a more mature, wise figure compared to previous releases in a 14-track LP. Featuring artists such as Jeremih, Eminem, Migos and a few others, 'I Decided' offers a solid lineup of tracks that can be played in just about any club or vehicle setting and will get people going every time. Tracks such as "Bounce Back" and "Moves" are sure- to-be radio hits that are easily 'Need,' written by Carrie Jones, is the first book in the 'Need' series. Interestingly enough each chapter in this book begins with some type of phobia. It makes sense, knowing that the main character, Zara White, practically mumbles and thinks phobias to herself quite often. It's what keeps her calm. After reading this book I realized that there's practically a name for every phobia out there. For instance, there's a phobia called arachibutyrophobia, which means you fear of having peanut butter getting stuck to the roof of your mouth. This story is incredible, it's so well-written and detailed. It's about a girl named Zara White, who tragically loses her stepfather to a heart attack. She becomes so shaken up about it that her mother has her move in with her step grandmother so she can get her mind off of things and for safety concerns. She also keeps seeing this man every where she goes and repeating phobias will not make him go away because he's real, not a part of her imagination. As the story progresses things begin to get more mysterious and astounding at the same time. I absolutely loved that I thought things would end up one way, but they would work out completely different. Every word led to a bigger scene that would keep my interest and make me feel so curious as to how everything would play out. After finding out that some people can shape shift into different creatures, I thought, is this going to end up like "Twilight"? Which I was completely wrong about and I am so glad I was. It's completely different. Not only that, but the shapeshifters are in a battle with pixies. Yes, pixies. At first I felt a little uneasy because the whole concept sounds ridiculous, but trust me it's not. Others have uncontrollable needs. They make the story interesting because without them, there'd be nothing to fight against. 'Passengers' takes place on the starship Avalon a couple hundred years in the future. The starship Avalon is transporting around five thousand passengers and a crew to another habitable planet called Homestead II a trip that will take 120 years. Thirty years into the trip, the ship encounters a meteor shower, in which it collides with a large asteroid. As a result of the collision, the ship's protective energy shield is weakened enough to allow a small asteroid to pass through the shield, impacting the ship. This causes a malfunction that awakens one passenger, engineer Jim Preston (Chris Pratt), 90 years too early. identifiable and accessible to common listeners or rap fans, while other tracks such as "Same Time, Pt. 1" and "Bigger Than Me" deliver a more laid-back, smooth R&B vibe. Although I enjoy a majority of the tracks on the album, one major gripe I've found myself to have is the fact that some tracks feel like they're just a bit too repetitive or missing that special "something", so to speak. Some tracks' verses and f lows are clever and well- thought out, others are reminiscent of average, run- of-the-mill Drake songs, which to me feels uni- nspired at t i m e s . 'I Decided' addi-tionally features a lo o - sely-f lo - wing storyline t h r o u - g h o u t the cou-rse of the alb-um, such as the intro track that sets the story of a p a r a l l e l u n i v e r s e M i s s y ( A m e l i e Eve), is kidnapped by a man nicknamed the Little Ladykiller, and is b r u t a l l y m u r d e r e d in a shack within the wilderness of Oregon. G o forward a few years, then you will find M a c k g o i n g outside his home to check his mailbox. It contains a note that asks Mack to go to the shack next weekend to meet the writer of the note. Despite the doubts he has, Mack proceeds to go and finds himself on a journey he won't forget. 'The Shack' was one of the best movies I have ever witnessed. Within the area of the theater, there was so much emotion and positive energy in the air. However, even with this positive energy, I can guarantee featuring a regretful, older and non-famous version of Big Sean that transitions into the current young and famous Big Sean. A neon-filled album cover shows two symmetrical driveways depicting the two different Big Sean's, almost as silhouettes, which I found to be a nice inclusion to support the loose storyline of the album. The cover is eye-catching and is a nice addition to the album. After giving this album multiple listens in full and often times as solo tracks throughout the past few weeks, I would give this album a solid 7/10. and users of the app, built in music, and running bundles. The app is free, easy to use, and trains you to run for a 5K within eight weeks. The first week, starts off with thirty minute runs that includes: a five-minute warmup walk, multiple intervals of running for sixty seconds then jogging for ninety seconds, and finally a five minute cool down walk. After the first week, there starts to be more running, but there is also more walking to balance it out. By the time you finish the eight week workout routine, you are able to run three miles without stopping. At first glance, the app doesn't look like it'll work miracles, but if you have daily determination, a phone, and the will to get in shape, you can do it. I don't know many people who use the app, but the people I do know have gotten in shape enough that they can run twenty minutes without stopping. As an example, my mother is a heavyset woman who hasn't exercised much in the past few years due to having kids but upon her using this app from January to now, she decreased in her weight and has gotten healthier. She has become d e t e r m i n e d in running and that determination has allowed her to get healthier using the 'C25K' app. This inspired and "I believe that if everyone had the determination my mother has, they could all get healthier using 'C25K'. " inf luenced my mother and I to go out more and be more involved physically. While I know this is just one example of a person's experience with the app, I believe that if everyone had the determination my mother has, they could all get healthier using 'C25K.' This app is extremely useful and is worth the free download. that over e i g h t y percent of the people w a t c h i n g the film f o u n d themselves b r o u g h t to tears. The movie c o n t a i n e d s u c h p o w e r f u l s c e n e s that you c o u l d n ' t help but be moved to tears, e s p e c i a l l y when you w it n e s s e d M i s s y ' s burial or M a c k ' s pain. Sam Worthington's acting of Mackenzie was one of the best performances I've seen in a long time. He was able to portray his character's grief amazingly, but Worthington also made sure that grief wasn't all of his character. Amelie Eve's wonderful performance only made it harder when Missy died. In conclusion, I think 'The Shack' is one of the best films of the year, and connects with anyone who watches it. The movie really makes you think about how much you take your family for granted and how life would be without them. It truly is an eye-opening piece. amuses readers After freaking out Jim realizes he can't reset his hibernation pod, and tries to keep busy with the many activities on the ship like hanging out with an android bartender called Arthur, alone. Jim wrestles with the idea of awakening another passenger Aurora Lane (Jennifer Lawrence) which will give him company, but will doom her to the same fate as him. A couple days later, he wakes her up saying her life pod malfunctioned like his. Eventually, she accepts her situation and begins writing a book about her experiences. Jim and Aurora grow closer, becoming lovers. Eventually, Jim asks Aurora to marry him at the bar where Arthur works. Author lets it slip that Jim woke up Aurora. Soon a member of the crew wakes up revealing the ship has many life threatening malfunctions that could kill everyone on the ship very soon and that they must fix. 'Passengers' is a movie unlike any other it's calm beginning, intense ending, and a good atmosphere the whole movie. If you want a new type of movie I would highly recommend this to you. 'Passengers' is a great movie with great acting and actors. The album is indeed a solid release and will fulfill most Big Sean fans' wishes for more catchy and accessible tracks, but will also leave some others such as myself with a desire for something more ambitious that just wasn't delivered this time around. Solid album with catchy tracks, but has potential to do better!! 'The Shack,' directed by Stuart Hazeldine, was released on March 3, 2017, and was based on the book called 'The Shack.'
