MORIMOTO LAS VEGAS
GRAND OPENING
Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto officially opened his
Morimoto Las Vegas restaurant at MGM Grand on
November 3. The evening kicked off with a traditional lion
dance, a symbolic act of bringing good fortune to a new
endeavor. Chef Morimoto broke down a 132-pound tuna
with his legendarily precise knife skills, to the delight of the
crowd. MGM executives then assisted Chef Morimoto in
creating a 100-foot maki sushi roll with the fresh tuna.
Guests were served Morimoto classics, such as hamachi
tacos and pan-fried pork gyoza, plus the teppan tables
sizzled with Japanese A-5 wagyu and Colorado organic
lamb chops. The crowd of Las Vegas VIPs drank soon-to-be
local favorite Green Dragon and Mango Lotus cocktails.
