Aly Smith Staff Writer Enthralling read and always interesting plot changes! 'Best Fiends' app charms millions Bluffer Staff Pick 'Beetlejuice' (1999) Amanda Waugh Staff Writer "Best Fiends provides increasingly difficult puzzles along with a back story as you progress through the game." 'Ghost Town' enthralls audience Best Fiends a recently popular game which was starred with 4.75 out of 5, has been making headlines with some of the more popular Youtubers such as Joey Graceffa, Pewdiepie, and a total of around 40,000,000 people in general that have started playing Best Fiends. Best Fiends provides increasingly difficult puzzles along with a back story as you progress through the game. It's your job to defeat the enemy slugs, rescue your friends or other characters, and complete challenges along the way. I started playing about 5 days ago and can agree that I am now addicted to playing Best Fiends and even have a competition going with my brother on who will get the farthest in the game. Every 10 minutes you get to spin the "Fiend of Fortune" and receive bonuses such as meteorites (yellow and blue) which can be used to upgrade your friends. Another option you may have if you are okay with spending $15 a month, is becoming a VIP member of Best Fiends which allows you to have infinite energy, play ad free on "Fiend of Fortune" and have exclusive discounts only VIP's can receive. Best Fiends also has an extra chance to win free gold and diamonds through party events such as "Birthday Slug Hunt", which allows the player to defeat a certain number of slugs a day in order to receive the extra bonuses. I have currently defeated 4 of these challenges and have received almost 1000 diamond among playing. Altogether, I highly recommend playing the addicting Best Fiends! characters that you have so you are more prepared for battle. Diamonds are another source you can use to upgrade characters or buy accessories for them to make them better. Currently Best Fiends is having an e x c l u s i v e offer where you can buy 50 gold for $5 w h i c h allows you to a d d extra moves t o c h a l l e n g e s so that you don't have to restart and waste an extra energy. This deal also includes 1000 diamond, 10 keys to unlock bonuses and characters, 1000 blue meteorites, 10,000 yellow meteorites, and 6 hours of infinite energy so that you can speed right through challenges and puzzles and level faster than any of Beetlejuice, an iconic movie from the 90's reappears as Halloween approaches. The famous film created by Tim Burton is known to be one of his best as a funny, dark movie. I'd say it's definitely one of his best next to Sweeney Todd and Nightmare Before Christmas. Beetlejuice is about a young couple, husband and wife, who died, and now haunt their old house. The mischievous ghosts spend their time trying to scare the newcomers out, and the way they do it is hilarious. Of course, the bad quality is what makes it so funny. The character development and overall plot is what makes the movie. Beetlejuice, the main character, is a devious ghost who is trying to get the Adam and Barbara Detwizes to leave. He wreaks havoc through the house creating chaos among the ghosts, his recklessness. His attraction to Barbara and her repulsion by Beetlejuice creates this sense of tug of war between the two main characters, making an iconic duo; but Beetlejuice and Barbara are not the only iconic duo. Adam and Barbara side with the ghosts, and try to scare the new family out. They can shape shift into monsters, which creates the infamous images you see today of the wicked creatures from the movie. Another character is Lydia, the daughter of Adam and Barbara. Overall, the movie is extremely crazy. Each character has their own sense of reality and insanity. Beetlejuice is more open, and it shows in his actions, but some of the other characters tend to be more private. As time moves on, everything tends to blur together, and they become one big dead family. The imagery used throughout the movie of the spirit realm is beautiful; how they're viewed as trapped in the house — being trapped by death— perfectly represents the image of death. The weirdness of the movie is what makes the movie so unique. The contact between the spirit realm and the realm of the living is ridiculous, and definitely gets a laugh out of you. Tim Burton's wonderful mind created a delusional, artistic movie, and it's one of his best yet. 'Ghost town' tells of a man, Bertrum Pincus, who gets a routine procedure done, meaning it's low-risk and is done often. He walks in to get a colonoscopy and when finished walks out, easy as pie right? Something happens though, during the procedure he died, but was revived and the staff did not tell him. What's so bad about telling him he died? I'd want to know. He's antisocial. Ever since his 'incident' he's had ghosts following him around asking for his help to provide their loved ones with closure. He brushes them off except for one in particular, a man who needs him to break up a relationship between his now widowed wife and her seemingly perfect fiancé. Their plan was to confuse her feelings by adding another man into her life. So, as time goes on Bertrum weasels his way into her life and sure enough she breaks up with Mr. 'Perfect'. He does everything right, except for the occasional slip up and one day she questions him, he answers wrong and she leaves him. At this point he realizes he needs to change and helps to bring closure for all the other ghosts needing his help and turns into a better person. It's a truly enthralling movie that leaves you craving for more. It's sweet, sappy, romantic and very funny in its own messed up way, it's a classic and every bit of it left me wanting more. The way the director threw in a curve ball whenever it's 'supposed' to be serious was truly inspirational. He definitely has a way to capture the attention of the audience and hold it and I find it quite impressive. It's surly is a movie I wouldn't mind watching again. Shawn Mendes's music 'Block Hexa Puzzle!' keeps 'Block! Hexa Puzzle' is a new, fun, and entertaining game that is currently number twelve on the free portion of the apple app store. This app created by the brand 'Bitmango' is a simple yet complicated game that relieves boredom and intrigues a player with its interesting levels. 'Block! Hexa Puzzle' is a block puzzle game that features over three hundred unique puzzles. In each level, you're given a few puzzle pieces, and a setting to fit each piece in. Each piece is a different vibrant color and makes it easier to match each piece into place. The puzzles can be difficult at times, so instead of becoming extremely frustrated you're able to earn or potentially buy hints in order to know where one puzzle piece is supposed to go. You can use multiple hints per puzzle, but after placing one correct piece on the board then the rest of the pieces practically fall into place. Another great thing about this app is that you don't need any wifi to use it, so if you ran out of data for the month as I usually do, you'll have something to do. Each day there is also a daily puzzle where you can also get one, two, or even three extra hints. Puzzle games similar to this usually intrigue me, so I became addicted to this game already. 'Block! Hexa Puzzle' can be pretty time consuming, whether it's a good or a bad thing. It's a very simple game but can still be complicated to complete a level especially once you've already completed so many. The first huge bunch of levels isn't necessarily easy, but it's not too difficult either. So far, I have completed at least one hundred and sixty levels; and if you didn't understand how addicting this game it is then I don't know what will. If you don't have much time to waste then you probably shouldn't download this app since it can be a major distraction. Overall, this app is an interesting puzzle game that will entertain anyone of almost any age. I recommend this for anyone who has a lot of time to kill. Let me start off by saying that I've been a huge fan of Shawn Mendes ever since I saw one of his homemade six second videos on the app called 'Vine.' It took only six seconds for not only me but thou- sands of others to realize that he's a su- per talented singer with an amazing voice, and let's not forget how cute he is. He started off like mul- tiple other kids with a dream, on social media posting videos of him playing the guitar and singing covers of songs that everyone loves. Multiple people including me were lucky enough to dis- cover Mendes before he was creating albums and was a fa- mous celebrity. I specifically remember the first time I heard his song on the radio. I was shocked to hear that not only did he sing the song amaz- ingly, but he actually wrote it as well. This only made my love for Mendes even greater. O n c e his first a l b u m blew up I knew he had made it big. Not only did he sing the songs well, but the songs actually made sense and had depth to them unlike a lot of popular music these days, which was also surprising. They were definitely relat- able and came from the heart. That's why I was extremely ex- cited to hear that Mendes came out with a new album on Sep- tember 23 of 2016. This album is labeled as a pop album for its modern direc- tion, but the songs aren't neces- sarily what comes to mind when you think of pop music. The songs are the types of songs that you want to sing along with in the car, or when you are angry or sad or even happy, it just de- pends on which song. There are fifteen songs on the deluxe version of the album: 'Mercy,' 'Three empty Words,' 'Ruin,' 'Don't Be a Fool,' 'No Promises,' and 'Bad Reputa- tion.' Out of all these songs my favorite is 'Treat You Better,' which I believe was the most popular song from the album. Shawn Mendes definitely didn't disappoint with this new Kourtney Sanders A&E Editor Interesting game that will pull you in. hold of players excitement Kourtney Sanders A&E Editor Shawn Mendes once again killed it with this album!
