Post to begin running obituaries MILWAUKEE — Hunzinger Construction has been selected to manage the construction of an entertainment plaza as part of Milwaukee's downtown arena development, the Milwaukee Bucks said in a statement. The entertainment dis- trict, spanning from Fourth Street from West Highland Avenue to West Juneau Avenue, plays a major role in the master design plan of the new arena and the devel- opment that's going to sur- round it. It features an active space devoted for communi- ty use every day of the year and also a mix of dining and retail spaces. "We are honored to join the Bucks' team for this exciting project," Hunzinger Construction Co. President John Hunzinger said. "This is a great oppor- tunity for our firm." Hunzinger Construction is no stranger to the area, having worked on projects throughout Milwaukee such as Miller Park, the Pabst Theater, the Summerfest grounds and also the original construc- tion of the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The Bucks also announced that Veit & Company, Inc. of New Berlin will manage the dem- olition of a parking struc- ture on the site of the enter- tainment block. The project is scheduled to be complete and open in the fall of 2018. — Chris Bucher Conley News Service MILWAUKEE — Wiscon- sin posted a net gain of 41,100 non-farm jobs in the past year and the unemploy- ment rate remains at a 15- year low, according to revi- sions to the figures the Department of Workforce Development released. From August 2015 to this past August, the state added 34,300 private-sector jobs while maintaining an unem- ployment rate of 4.2 percent for the month this year. As a whole, Wisconsin's remains lower than the nation's 4.9 percent unemployment rate, a 15-year low. In terms of labor force participation, the rate remained at 68.3 percent, outpacing the nation's rate of 62.8 percent. Even with the positive outlook, the landscape of the skilled-trade industry remains low. Although there's plenty of openings and businesses hiring, it's been a struggle to hire prop- er candidates, DWD Secretary Ray Allen said. "Our state's labor force is consistently in the top 10 in the nation and the number of employed Wisconsinites has reached a record high in 2015," Allen said.
