Ed Stroman PT ATC CSCS Ed is the President and CEO of the Physical Therapy & Wellness Center and Tehama Family Fitness Center. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1984 from Fresno State University. He went on shortly thereafter to complete the necessary requirements for his athletic training and strength and conditioning certifications. His primary experience has been in the realm of general orthopedics and sports medicine with an emphasis on therapeutic exercise. He believes exercise is the best medicine- both empowering and energizing, and that exercise will increase one's sense of control over everyday life. "You're never too sick or too old to start exercising." In 1986 Ed established the north state's first athletic training / sports medicine program at Red Bluff High School. He was a volunteer for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City where he worked at the hockey venue. He has worked with the Justin Sports Medicine Program for 20 years, treating and evaluating rodeo injuries. In his free time, Ed enjoys spending time with his family, fixing up his house, participating in many types of exercise- particularly his kettlebell class and stand-up paddle surfing. Dale Mendenhall, MPT, CSCS Dale is an RBUHS graduate of 2000, who returned to the north state in 2008. He completed his undergraduate education in Fitness & Human Performance, receiving his B.S. with Sum Cum Laude Honors through the University of Houston system. Dale then immediately began pursuit of his Masters in Physical Therapy at the University of Texas Medical Branch, graduating in December of 2007 with Highest Honors. He then joined the team at the PTWC where he received his first introduction to the field of Physical Therapy. Through his Education and training Dale has developed into a performance-based Physical Therapist, using a progressive strengthening and manual approach to return patients and clients to their highest level of function. He has had the opportunity to work with the Head Strength and Conditioning Coaches of the Houston Astros and NASA, as well as top research facilities in both Orthopedic and Neuro-Rehabilitation. Dale is a strong proponent of life-long learning and is continuing to further his education at Regis University to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Fellowship in Manual Orthopedic Therapy with recent completion of his credential for clinical instruction through the APTA. Debra K. Franseth-Ross, DPT, CHT Debra is a Red Bluff native and graduated from RBUHS Student Body President in 1975. She graduated from CSU Hayward in 1980 with a Bachelor in Kinesiology and Physical Education. Debra furthered her education at UC San Francisco completing her second Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, graduating in 1982. Debra returned to Red Bluff immediately after graduation and began her career at St Elizabeth Community Hospital. After a short period of time, she joined the out patient physical therapy team now known as Physical Therapy and Wellness Center. Debra continued her devotion to the study of hand therapy and successfully completed the process for Certification in Hand Therapy (CHT) in 1996. Debra's passion and expertise is in treatment of traumatic hand injuries but her history indicates she has enjoyed many facets of physical therapy, including developing and running the cardiac rehabilitation for St. Elizabeth's Community Hospital, assisting in development of the pulmonary rehabilitation program for Chico Community Hospital, providing contract services for local skilled nursing facilities, and acute care services for St. Elizabeth's Community Hospital for the past 27 years. Debra completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in April 2005, graduating from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. Debra chooses to work in Red Bluff as a member of the excellent medical community providing care to the same community of doctors, educators and classmates that have contributed to her professional fulfillment. Personally Debra enjoys spending time with her husband Sgt. Jeff Ross of the California Highway Patrol and their three wonderful children, Brianna, Christy and Zack. Lonnie Scott MA, ATC Lonnie started at the Physical Therapy and Wellness Center in 1988 as an ROP student from Red Bluff High School, which led into a part time job cleaning the pool and folding towels. After high school he left for Brigham Young University where he became a student athletic trainer working with the baseball and football programs. With that training, Lonnie received an internship with the San Diego Chargers and after graduation became an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the team. While living in San Diego Lonnie earned a MA in Health Services Management. He stayed with the Chargers for six seasons, and then took a job as Head Athletic Trainer for the expansion Los Angeles Avengers of the Arena Football League where he worked for two seasons. In 2002, Lonnie completed the circle back to Red Bluff taking a job at the Physical Therapy and Wellness Center and teaching ROP Therapeutic Services class at Red Bluff High School. In his spare time, Lonnie enjoys endurance sports and time with his family.
