From Uptown to downtown, crowds of house-lovers zipped
in and out of the mansions and residences of Front Street
last month during the 42nd annual Candlelight House
Tour, sponsored by Historic Harrisburg Association.
Once the province of the city's elite, Front Street recently
has experienced a renaissance with new owners stepping
in to restore the many magnificent buildings to their glory.
Even the travel was easier, thanks to the newly redesigned
and repaved road.
SANTA IN MIdTOWN
Even amid the holiday rush, Santa Claus found time last
month to drop by Midtown Harrisburg. Smiling kids
let old St. Nick know what they wanted for Christmas
and, with their parents, explored the big rigs at the PA
National Fire Museum. e event, sponsored by Friends
of Midtown, included free cookies washed down with hot
cocoa, the perfect pairing for a mid-December afternoon.
