'Close Up Pics' challenges players. I hated it. Page 4 October 2, 2015 Arts and Entertainment No matter how sad a song is, it always manages to get you in a great mood! It was okay, but it's not worth spending money on. Bluffer Staff Pick 'The Perfect Guy' (2015) Skyler Drew Staff Writer Julissa Villalobos Staff Writer A slightly predictable plot, but it still has the ability to keep you on the edge of your seat. Amy Becerra Staff Writer Taylor Nguyen Staff Writer Drama/Thriller, the movie 'Everest' which is based on a true story was released in September 18, 2015 which was directed by Baltasar Kormakur. e flat and likely plot of 'Everest' 'Twenty One Pilots' wins results in dissapointed audiences It's very rare to find unique music these days, not to sound like an 80 year old man. There's not a lot of variety. There are only a couple of known artists that like make music about the real struggles in life. 'Twenty One Pilots' is a good example of a band that sings truths about life. Tyler Joseph (Lead Singer) and Josh Dun (Drummer) make up band. The name 'Twenty One Pilots' came to them while they were studying "All My Sons" by Arthur Miller, a play about a man who must decide what's best for his family after causing the death of 'Twenty One Pilots.' Their wide genre variety makes them very unique from other bands. They base their songs on Indie pop and alternative hip hop. Some songs are sad and somber like "Truce", "Car Radio" and "Goner", others are upbeat and cheerful like "House of Gold" and "We Don't Believe What's on T.V." They weren't really known about until after their show in November 2011, where they attracted the attention of many record labels. It was ultimately decided that they would side with Fueled by Ramen. They have had a lot of success with their music. They have won many awards for their unique style and great attitudes. If you ever get the wonderful opportunity to see them play live, you will be filled with excitement and energy. Tyler Joseph's lively voice and sweet notes that escape from his bass, ukulele, piano, or whatever he decides to play accompanied by Josh Dun's crazy drumming will surely make you get up on your feet. On May 17, 2015, their newest album, Blurryface, released 2 days earlier than expected. If you want to listen to a band with many unique songs, a rad drummer, and a crazy rap or two, 'Twenty One Pilots' should be on your play list. 'Close Up Pics' is a picture/ word game developed by Media flex Games. This game is very similar to 'Four Pics One Word'. Essentially, one would look at a close up picture and try and guess what it is. Well, what they didn't tell you was that you had to guess places and things. These were objects that were old or that the names were not very clear. And the places were older places or places in other countries that were rarely heard of. This game is not one of my favorites. I actually disliked this game very much. It was difficult for me to understand at first. I played this game for a few days and tried to give it a chance but it was hard. When I started to understand what I had to do it was still challenging to see what the pictures were. Personally, I do not like guessing games. Some of the pictures are easy, such as, the first few. Although, all first levels of games are easy. This game was a well talked about topic on Twitter. I have been hearing about it for a few weeks now. Some had said it was a great game and others, not so much. I first started hearing that it was a great game, but after a week or two people started posting that it wasn't a good game. I am guessing that this is after those first few easy levels. When the game started getting harder it became a displeasure to people. At first, I thought this was a neat little attention holder. After I started getting into the game more the pictures were of things I hadn't even seen before. Or they were of things I did not know the names of. There were pictures of places I had never seen before. These were things I had a hard time liking about the game. I played 'Four Pics One Word' and it was more about general objects, for instance, keys, bubbles, pencils, and newspapers. 'Close Up Pics' was a lot more difficult than that. I am not a fan of difficult games. These games are meant to hold your attention to cure boredom, but if a game is too difficult for me that does not make me want to play it on a long road trip. I would rather opt for an easier, simple game to hold my attention. After trying to play this game for a while I deleted it. It is not a game I enjoyed very much. I do not suggest playing this game unless you know quite a bit about older objects and tourist places in other countries. Main Street, Red Bluff Open: 530-727-6057 4:00am- 10:00pm The film 'Everest' is an adventure thriller based on a true story that takes place in May of 1996. The movie revolves around two groups of climbers who meet up at the base of Mount Everest in hopes of reaching the summit of the mountain, hence the title. During the first part of the film, I was extremely bored. This was one of those movies where one wouldn't mind getting up to buy some popcorn and maybe spend some time idling around since the movie won't reach an interesting point for another thirty minutes or ever really. The moment I walked into the screening room, I knew I had made a mistake because there wasn't a soul in there, but I stuck around because I actually enjoy based-on-a-true-story movies. Anyway, the climbers start to make their way up the mountain, but they're delayed because of some ropes that weren't installed, so their meticulous schedule flies out the window and now they have to maneuver their way around another difficult obstacle. After great effort on everyone's part, most of the climbers reach the summit on time, except for the few stragglers that will have to try again next year. Once they're all on the long journey back down the mountain is when things start to get icy in a very bad way. A severe storm hits and the climbers are forced to travel through thick, rapid and freezing blizzards while they're also running out of extra oxygen tanks. The movie was alright, but it wasn't that good. The quality was nice, but the story line is something we've all heard of before. There wasn't really much action either. I was expecting violent avalanches and cracking glaciers under people's feet, just something that would keep me on the edge of my seat, but nothing too dramatic happened. However, I did like how they included real pictures of the climbers at the end of the movie. Michael Ealy, Sanaa Lathan, and Morris Chestnut, from the 'The Perfect Guy' which was directed by David Rosenthal. 'The Perfect Guy' revolves around a high-powered, successful woman named Leah who goes through a painful breakup; however, her ex-boyfriend comes back into the picture right when she gets involved in a rather passionate relationship with a charismatic stranger. This thriller definitely left me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire movie as you watch this woman having to figure out who she can trust and how to get herself out of a dangerous situation. The plot begins when Leah meets Carter who saves her from a man who is trying to pick her up and then seduces her. Soon, Carter fits the description of the perfect man that Leah has been looking for. He's great with friends, family, and herself by taking her out to various adventures, or buying her father baseball tickets to his favorite baseball team. The story line soon picks up when Leah comes to the realization that Carter is a possessive psychopath. Unfortunately, Carter does not make it easy for Leah to find a way out of this relationship. When watching this film, the story felt real due to the fact that anything can happen on the Internet nowadays with some slight exaggeration, but to use to his advantage of stalking Leah; however, for someone who is easily scared, it kept me on my toes. Drama is conveyed in this film more than horror. Aside from a minority of the movie's plot being predictable, the movie itself as a whole escalated quite nicely. All in all, 'The Perfect Guy' definitely had its jump scares and quite a few tear- jerkers; then again I am not quite strong in the emotion department when it comes to movies. If you like suspense movies can come off cliché at times, but still fulfills that dramatic suspenseful department, then you will find it easy to enjoy this film. Also, Michael Early shows that looks can kill in 'The Perfect Guy'...literally. www.abudhabi2.com then again, what's a movie without some overly dramatic exaggeration? When Carter uses the Internet to invade Leah's privacy, it was a perfect way for the viewer to connect the movie with issues arising today with cyber threats found in the Internet. It is quite interesting to see the main character, Leah, yearn for someone who will care for her every move, but giving her Carter, who is the too good to be true lunatic. Despite this, the plot came out to be overly predictable at certain times. It's expected for Carter to become obsessive and have knowledge of computers "This thriller definitely left me on the edge of my seat..." reviewproductbook.tk itunes.apple.com
