C i a o , B e n v e n u t o a R e d B l u f f ! The Italian exchange at Red Bluff High has been go- ing on for roughly twenty-two years. It costs about $2,300 to go. This year fourteen Italians arrived in California Sep- tember ninth, and they will be here for around two and a half weeks. While they are here, the Italians will go on school and city tours and special excursions planned by both the exchange program and their American families. • The Italians we exchange with come from a language school. They're here to learn more about the English language. • Their school is located near Florence, so they haven't seen the kind of agriculture that we have. While they're here, they plan to learn more about it. • Basic Italian words: "Ciao" (chow) means hello or goodbye, "Per favore" (pehr fah-voh-reh) means please, "Grazie" (graht-zee-eh) means thank you.
