Long and Gertjan van den Broek, developer of the Harbour Lights condominium project in downtown Port Washington and CEO of Renew Port Holdings, are founding shareholders in The Blues Factory. The Kubala Washatko Architects of Cedarburg created the innovative two-story building concept that incorporates the industrial past of the site in a contemporary design. Other project partners include Cramer-Krasselt (Integrated Marketing), Komisar Brady & Co. (CPA), and McIlnay Button Law. The company will finance the project through a combination of private equity, commercial lender construction financing, and $1 million from the City's Downtown Tax Incremental Finance (TIF) District. The Blues Factory plans a Direct Public Offering (DPO) under Wisconsin's Equity Crowd-funding Statutes of 2014 following city approval of TBF's proposal, providing community residents and other supporters of the project an opportunity to share in the ownership of this living tribute to the history of their hometown. The Blues Factory is online at www.thebluesfactory.com and Facebook and plans to premiere an outdoor roots music festival at the Port Washington waterfront in August 2017 as part of Paramount Centennial. "This community has a great story to tell. The Blues Factory business plan and building design are the result of 12 months of research and development. From the outset, our goal has been to create an exciting new business that will contribute to the revitalization of downtown and also have a major catalytic impact on additional development and help grow local and regional tourism. We're excited to present this proposal to the community and look forward to building The Blues Factory," Long said. CONTACT: Christopher Long chris@thebluesfactory.com (262) 323-6531
