By DAN MUCKELBAUER And KATHERINE MICHALETS Post and Conley Media Staff MILWAUKEE — The big cat that's been reported on the loose in Milwaukee and drawing world- wide attention could very well be an exotic pet. "It could be a captive mountain lion," said Karen Sparapani, exec- utive director of the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission, which has been working closely with the Milwaukee Police Department. For more than a week, resi- dents on the North Side have been reporting seeing a large "lion- like" creature. A video purported to be of the animal was even shot and a Milwaukee Police Depart- ment officer and a Department of Natural Resources warden more recently said they both observed what appeared to be a large cat. Milwaukee police continued to receive calls this week about a large, wild cat, investigating each one, the Police Department said. As of Wednesday early afternoon, the animal continued to elude authorities.
