3A From the Presenting Sponsor Dear VEGAS INC readers, We are pleased to be the presenting sponsor of the 2012 Women to Watch awards. Congratulations to all the honorees for the signifi cant impact you make on the community through your vibrant careers and community service. Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) is a center for heal- ing and hope. Our purpose is to intro- duce you to CTCA and our Mother Standard® of Care, which is the type of care each of us would want for a loved one fi ghting cancer. It means our entire focus is driven by advanced whole-person treatment options. The goal is to work together with our patients and caregivers to develop a personalized and integrated treat- ment plan that is right for each indi- vidual patient. A dedicated team of oncologists, surgeons, and other specialists deliv- er advanced cancer treatment, and at the same time, they support patients with therapies to improve quality of life with nutrition, oncology rehabili- tation, and other supportive thera- pies. As you refl ect on this year's hon- orees who have greatly impacted the community, think of ways you can incorporate the Mother Standard® of Care into your daily routine. What can you do to make an impact in the life of someone tomor- row? Congratulations again to the 2012 honorees. Edgar Staren, M.D. President and CEO Cancer Treatment Centers of America® WOMEN TO WATCH From Rob Langrell O ur fi fth annual "Women to Watch" section recognizes 18 women whom we expect to make a mark on our community in a variety of ways. They range from CEOs, presidents, vice presidents and executive directors to executives in the restaurant and nightclub busi- ness. They are quite an eclectic, but powerful bunch. These are all women that you need to pay attention to in 2012. They are all involved in amaz- ing projects in the upcoming year. The women were chosen after we fi elded nominations where we posed the question: How will your nomi- nee have an impact on 2012? The responses were again overwhelming. We received more than 140 in all, which forced some tough decisions by the members of our selection committee. Read through the section and you'll certainly fi nd an extraordinary group of women. VEGAS INC is hon- ored to profi le this year's class and welcomes our 18 newest business- women to this elite group. It is a dis- tinct and unique award. Rob Langrell Special Publications Editor rob.langrell@gmgvegas.com (702) 990-2490 From the Sponsor Dear VEGAS INC readers, House of Blues and Foundation Room at House of Blues are proud to sponsor this year's "Women to Watch" event. We would like to take this oppor- tunity to congratulate each of these dynamic and diverse women who are being recognized for their excellence and leadership in their industries and in our community. House of Blues has long enjoyed being been a part of the Las Vegas com- munity since opening our doors inside Mandalay Bay in 1999. In addition to concerts in our Music Hall, dining in our Crossroads at House of Blues Res- taurant, and fi ne dining and nightlife in our Foundation Room, House of Blues also supports a nonprofi t organization. Our International House of Blues Foundation, supported from our Foun- dation Room memberships, is dedicated to providing arts education programs and resources to teach youth about his- tory, culture, and social change. For the spring of 2012, IHOBF Las Vegas is awarding over $12,000 in grants and instruments to schools and nonprofi t organizations that deliver arts programs to underserved youth in Clark County. Our volunteers are teachers, attorneys, musicians, parents and other commu- nity members whose dedicated support allows the IHOBF to continue to provide arts education programming. Once again, congratulations to all of the honorees. We celebrate and applaud them, and thank them for making Las Vegas the wonderful community in which to live and work. Andrew J.
