March 25, 2015 By Melanie Boyung News Graphic Staff GRAFTON — In an epic battle of basketball skills, former Green Bay Packers, professional athletes, shall face their oddest match yet: Grafton celebrities. The Grafton School District will host a charity game Saturday when village teachers, firefighters and Grafton Gladiator coaches vie against former Packers, including Chris Jacke, Bill Ferrario, Dexter McNabb, Bill Schroeder and Chris Francies in the Grafton High School gym. The game is open to the public; admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. The festivities will begin at 4 p.m. with a pre-game tailgate party. The Black Hawk meal deal will be featured with brat or burger, chips, cookie and a drink for $5. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. The GHS dance team will perform before the game, and the Grafton competitive cheer squad will perform at halftime. After the game, players will be available to sign autographs, according to a Grafton School District press release. The event can also be sponsored by local businesses and organizations. In April, the community is invited to donate paper toweling for Camp American Legion at any of the Ozaukee County Walgreen Stores in Cedarburg, Grafton, Saukville and Mequon- Thiensville. Locations: W62 N190 Washington Ave., Cedarburg 1915 Wisconsin Ave., Grafton 11270 N Port Washington Road, Mequon 278 Main St., Thiensville 829 E Green Bay Road, Saukville Camp American Legion, on Big Carr Lake provides rest, relaxation, recuperation and rehabilitation to Wisconsin veterans of all ages, active duty military service members and their families. The camp serves those who have a physical or psychological condition, any and all types of service and non-service related illnesses, injuries or disabilities. Camp is free for those who qualify. Kevin Moshua, the director, says they go through an incredible amount of paper toweling during the camp season.
