Diversity Rules Magazine Lundon Calling The Talk Show You've Been Waiting For.... A lifelong Republican; he has also lived lifelong with what folks call "psychic abilities" and is probably his own biggest skeptic, but has learned to live and cope with this. of the gay rights pioneers today, having outlived the AIDS plague. His soul-mate died in his arms in 1989 from AIDS. Lundon has spent decade's involvement in the Entertainment Industry … and, a decade in the ministry as a Youth Pastor and evangelist, co- founding Youth With A Vision, Inc. His years in the entertainment industry in- clude; vocalist, model, PR man, Personal Man- ager, Agency co-owner, producer/director. He created the curricula and taught an "Acting For Everyone" class for two decades. Co-produced & directed what became "the longest running monthly show in the history of the American Armed Forces"; entertaining 750,000+ men go- ing to and coming home from Vietnam. He was married to actress, Jean London, and divorced in 1974. In the early 60's he created and hosted "Ask Ace"; a syndicated radio show dealing with the problems of child-parent relationships and the crime-delinquency problems of that day. A Talk Show where NO TOPIC IS TABOO best describes "Lundon Calling". Show hosts Ace Lundon and Lance Helms may take you places outside or inside your reality or your dreams and fantasies … asking you to only con- sider Aristotle's admonition: "It is the mark of the educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." Lundon believes we don't stop laughing be- cause we grow old … he's in his seventies … but, we grow old because we stop laughing. Listeners may find themselves belly-laughing out loud or moaning and groaning at his farm- boy to big city … naughty straight to gay jokes … and he will laugh along with listeners. Regular listeners to the downloaded PODcast shows will find their lives expanding because of Seven He has been an activist of human rights for women and gays since the late 1960's. He is considered one the unique philosophy and a life lived fully of the iconoclastic Lundon. Listeners voices will be heard through E-mail comments and questions. When asked about why he started the show, Lundon says, "So many times in life things just come to us; we don't actually "start" them. This was one of those things. I had a Lundon Calling radio show and at the end of my 18 months, I was let go because I had used a few words which cannot be used on regular radio. I was fired basically. So that door closed. My philosophy included "open and shut doors" and you don't try and go through a closed door. Just let it be ... and when a door opens without my trying to open it, I believe it means for me to go through. That is what happened to begin the podcast Show." Lundon says of the show's mission, "To con- tinue the basic type of show I had on radio and now be able to be way more than that. It was a MUST that the podcast show might be a ben- efit for my brothers and sisters in our Queer Community. It also was a MUST that the Show be benefit for our straight listeners ... I fully expected to have a large straight audience as that has been evidenced over the past. And, we would have to have a show that was also entertainment. That was probably my initial mission, if I had stopped to think about it. When asked about his expectations for the show, Lundon says, "Well, I had a guy in mind whom I wanted for a Co-host and my expec- tation was that we would have fun while we were sharing information with our listeners. I figured we'd be lucky to have even a hundred listeners when we started and I knew if growth were to happen, it would have to be by word of mouth. Lundon speaks of the future of the show and where he sees it going, "Wherever the listeners take us! ShowBiz and politics are about the numbers, you know! And, having been an ac- tivist since the 1960's I also know we will keep going ... winners never quit and quitters never win. You know that too! www.lundon-calling.net
