Girls basketball aims high The RBHS's girl's Junior Varsity basketball team is preparing for their next game on February 19th, a home game against Chico. The team is hoping to do well on the account that they haven't done very good this season and the last time they played Chico they lost. "Chico is pretty good," Jennifer Weightman, a sophomore, commented. "Hopefully we will set up our plays pretty well." Weightman continued saying they have played Chico before and know what's coming. She states that the girls have been preparing for the game. "We run a lot. We have conditioned," Weightman said. " We are physically ready." Weightman knows that being ready physically and mentally has a major role in winning a game. The team hopes to pull through and finish the season strong after a bad start. "We have to play with high intensity and work as a team," Rylee Dufrain, sophomore, said agreeing with Boone. Together the girls knows they can pull through and end the season strongly. No snow affects Alpine's season According to members of the alpine team, the season freshman, Ellie Miller is a snow boarder for the team, claims that she does the sport because, "It's outside the box and not everyone does it." When Miller started out she was a little frightened by the idea since she has had no experience with the sport. "When you begin you may fall a lot, but you have to stick with it if you want to improve." Miller says, "when you're up there you're always challenging yourself to be better. It's not about anyone else but you, and I try to keep that mind set." Junior, Noah Fleharty, a Skier on the team was familiar with his sport because growing up his brothers did it, then soon he came to end up loving the sport that he now finds a passion. "The season sucked but still was the funnest sport I have done even with the snow we had" said senior Victor Ibarra.
