Truly, it is truly saitisfying being able to sleep at night knowing that the executive leader of our very nation is protected from danger, so long as the person causing said danger is Amish. We may only hope that if another childs toy infiltrates one of the most important buildings in our nation again, Obama may be able to defend himself seeing as he clearly must not have a group of people whose sole job is to protect him. However, if the President sees this editorial, it would be lovely if he would heed such advice and get such a group of people. Even a large dog which can jump may be sufficient as a formittable foe against something that anybody could buy at Walmart. Perhaps, in the event of the current deficit which the country faces, our government may struggle to scrape up the funds to pay Illeana Hilsee Staff Writer interest as you do. You can talk to people from around the world about anything you want to know. Talking to or just interacting with more popular people is also easier to do. You don't have to have personal information like where you work or what high school you went to or your profile. You don't even have to have your actual name. It's kind of a bit sketchy to just have random people accessing this information. As you age, your facebook timeline starts to grow with you. For example, once you and your friends start having kids, your timeline probably won't be about parties that people have gone to and more about what their baby ate today. On Twitter you can follow people of any age so you don't seem too upset about what your best friends child is doing compared to yours. Now we have all of those annoying game request in your notifications. S ince the internet is way more accessible now, everyone is all over social media. Twitter and Facebook have been opposing for a while, some people leaning more towards one than the other. I personally am a bigger fan of Twitter. Though Facebook has its moments such as getting in touch with your grandma or aunt in Ohio, there seems to be something missing. For me Facebook takes a long time to load. As well as the messenger app. I still don't understand why you would need two apps for the same site, it's quite ridiculous. I see Facebook as more for family and close friends where Twitter is used to express yourself. There is always more excitement on Twitter feeds than Facebook feeds. On Twitter, you can follow anyone you want without having them accept a request. You can also find many new people that have the same Don't you hate logging in and thinking "wow 10 people have wanted to interact with me" but it turns out being someone inviting you to try out "who is your secret crush". My timeline also always seems to show me things from months before and so I'll like something then when I notice when it's from I feel they'll think I'm stalking their profile. I follow more people than I am friends with on Twitter so something is always happening. In conclusion, Twitter has so many more perks and qualities than Facebook and continues to be a dominant website. Staff Writer Britney Miranda Mark Wahlberg grows as a person W e all know the famous Mark Wahlberg, not only for his incredible good looks and his previous one hit wonder rapping career, but also for his amazing acting skills! If you're not too familiar with the name he's an actor/ producer who was just in new movies with the famous names like Ted, Pain and Gain, Lone survivor, and his newest movie out, Transformers: age of extinction. Wahlberg's the absolute best thing about Transformers and any movie he plays in at that. But I don't want to talk about all the movies he's been incredible in, or about the Transformers. I want to talk about, America's most public supposed "felon with a firearm." Back in November 2014, Mark Wahlberg filed an application with the Massachusetts Board of Pardons, asking that his record be wiped clean of felonies he committed in 1988. In his petition, Wahlberg says he is "not the same person," that he is "reformed." However, to many others that know of his name and previous life, he's the same person, just with more money and new friends with inf luence. It's not a big surprise for people to take a toll on this, sense some people believe the average man would probably have done quite some time for his crimes that he has committed, but in all he has been forgiven. Wahlberg clearly has cleaned up his life, record, and the way he see's other races. He's 43 now. His crimes occurred at 16, in Dorchester, Mass. On a night when he has said that he was heavily intoxicated, he used a stick to hit a Vietnamese man on the head with such force that it knocked him unconscious. As he f led the police, he punched another Vietnamese man in the eye. All the while, he used racial slurs. It wasn't out of character. When he was 15, according to court documents, he was involved in two incidents of using racial slurs as he physically threatened African-American children. That matter was referred to civil court and he got off with a warning. For the subsequent crimes, he served 45 days in prison, and he has said in interviews over time that once he got out, he was determined to be a different man. A lot of Wahlberg's crimes have been against people of color, but Wahlberg has worked with former actors that are of color, that being know he has changed the way he see's people. People that disagree with the crimes he has committed, and the court of law should accept his pardons. L ately, I've been hearing a lot of garbage on something that just makes my blood boil: the anti-vaccine movement. Sadly, there are multitudes of people who buy into the idea that vaccines are somehow harmful to children and that not getting them vaccinated is the safe thing to do. This kind of thinking should get your children taken away. Getting your kids vaccinated is vital to their health, both right now and in the future. What is the origin of this stupid movement: the idea that vaccines cause autism. Now, the man who originally proposed this idea was one Andrew Wakefield, the author of a study that claimed vaccines to be potentially harmful to a child's health. His claims gained widespread media attention and to this day I still hear parents say, "I don't wanna get my kid vaccinated, he'll catch the autism!". But the problem is that Andrew Wakefield is kind of a huge jerk. In 2004 the British General Medical Council accused Wakefield of serious professional misconduct including the suppressing and falsification of data and Wakefield's paper has been formally retracted. So the idea that vaccines cause autism is based of the claims of a man who has since been discredited by the medical community as a fraud and a liar. If you're detecting some not- so-subtle anger in this editorial, you're right. This issue makes me mad. Really mad. It frustrates me that there are children dying from disease every in places where they don't have access to vaccines. Those people might literally kill for vaccines that could save their children, but stuck up moms in the U.S. deny their children these miraculous medicines because of their uninformed opinions. There is a website, www. antivaccinebodycount.com, that counts the estimated number of deaths caused by vaccine preventable illnesses that rose as the anti-vaccine movement gained momentum. Right now, it's at 6336 deaths in the U.S. alone. Every single one of these deaths could have been prevented by parents, but were not because the parents were not properly informed. Don't be that parent, and don't be the one that lets people spout this anti-vaccine bull. If you hear someone spreading this, tell them how wrong and harmful what they're saying is. prevents overall well-being Valentine's day not just for those in love; Rebecca Frey Staff Writer V alentine's Day. A day most people associate with love and romance and couple-y things... a sad day for sad single people. When did our society decide that Valentine's Day, a "romance" holiday, is shared with "sad people day?" That holiday is already taken by St. Patrick's. Lift your chin up, boys and girls! Buy yourself a bag of candy because you are worth it. A guy or girl you like didn't ask you to be your Valentine? No biggie. Watch George Clooney or whatever you kids are into these days and eat your candy like a boss. If you really want a Valentine, however, ask one yourself! It doesn't have to exactly be a romantic one- ask your best friend. Say, "Be a bro for me, bro, and be my Valentine. You da bomb dot com." And they'll be like, "Brah. I thought you'd never ask, homie. I'll get you a giant teddy bear and we'll be da bomb. Together." If you get turned down, then you just realized that you were too cool for them anyway. Move on, get yourself that cartoon stuffed animal thing and some candy for yourself, and then find someone more on your level. But hey- there's also the chance that you don't get Anti-Vaccine movement turned down, and you're both left with two awesome people who both have candy! So you see? There are so many ways to turn your "sad holiday" into something awesome! You're welcome, America. Have a consensual and fun Valentine's Day. Twitter reigns internet winner thus deserves pardened rap sheet single people can enjoy holiday as well for….a guy who could litterally just look around and point while saying the ever slightest, "Umm, you guys, maybe we should be more aware of the leader of our nations safety seeing as something is casually flying over the fence." One plausible solution to this issue, seeing as this is an issue which has occured a plethora of times, would be making it more difficult to break into the White House so that people could not jump the fence, which has also been an issue. An option of this manner, would be to add a corn maze of sorts to the front lawn. Thus, whoever can actually get through this maze-which would likely be made to be incredibly difficult-could take over as a member of the secret service. This would be a quality solution seeing as a person willing to go through a corn maze most likely has a far better work ethic than most of our secret service...All of our secret service....All of our government.
