Post Staff MILWAUKEE — Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki announced the 2015 Treasures of the Church Award recipients in his "Love One Another" electronic newsletter dis- tributed recently. Established this year to recognize those individuals, organizations and religious orders who exemplify the true treasures of the church in their steadfast commitment and response to the poor in our midst, the awards will be presented at the Archbishop's Lenten Luncheon, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Feb. 24, at St. Francis de Sales Seminary, 3257 S. Lake Drive, St. Francis. The 2015 awardees are: ■ Individual recipient — Ann Marie Wick, senior director of Global Compliance, Briggs & Stratton Corp. ■ Organization recipient — Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare/St. Joseph campus ■ Religious Community recipient — Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi-Milwaukee "The Lenten Luncheon is a wonderful time to come together for prayer, fellow- ship, and a simple lunch of soup and bread while we acknowledge the good work being done to help individuals and families strug- gling with poverty," Listecki said. Fashioned after an effort that began in 2006 in LaCrosse as "In My Name," when then-Bishop Listecki led that diocese and its local Catholic charities, "Treasures of the Church" will now be an annual event benefitting the programs of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, which serves people of all faiths throughout the 10 counties of south- east Wisconsin. More information and registration for the Lenten Luncheon can be found on Catholic Charities' website: www.ccmke.org. said he believed the streetcar would enhance the city's economy and would result in an estimated 1,000 construction jobs. "Public transit needs to be a priority in this city," Kovac said. "It needs to be in concert with other decisions." While many of the most ardent alder- manic supporters of the streetcar are in or near the downtown area, there are officials in outlying areas who are also backing the plan. Alderman Terry Witkowski represents portions of Milwaukee's southwest side — a section of the city that likely will never have a streetcar line running through it because it lacks the den- sity. But Witkowski said the efforts aimed at spurring growth down- town inevitably benefit all corners of Milwaukee. About 18 percent of the city's tax base is derived from downtown residential, commercial and industrial developments. "This is a time for the city to have vision and look at what can be," Witkowski said. In its first phase, the streetcar, as pro- posed, would run in a four-mile loop and link downtown commuters to the lakefront and East Side neighborhood. About $55 million in federal funding would be direct- ly applied to the $124 million cost. In recent months, Barrett defended allo- cating city dollars toward the project. He has frequently asserted the federal dollars cannot be applied toward other initiatives within the city. 2 • Milwaukee County Post • January 23, 2015 Volume 21, issue number 4 The Milwaukee County Post (ISSN 1544-1776) is published weekly by Conley Media, Milwaukee County 3397 South Howell Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53207 For all departments call: 414.744.6370 General FAX: 414-375-7070 Classifieds: 800-762-6219 ext. 5005 Classified Fax: 262-334-6252 For display advertising inquires: Daryl Skaradzinski: General Manager - ext. 13 dskaradzinski@conleynet.com For editorial inquires: Dwayne Butler: Editor - 262-513-2626 dbutler@conleynet.com POSTMASTER: Send address changes to the Milwaukee County Post 3397 S. As with men, women may experience pain, tightness or discomfort in the chest during a heart attack. But women are somewhat more likely than men to experience some of the other common symptoms, particularly shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, pain in one or both arms, cold sweats, feeling lightheaded, back or jaw pain, and unexplained fatigue or weakness. For some women, symptoms may be present a month or so before their actual heart attack. If you experience symptoms of a heart attack, call 911 immediately!
