The Red Bluff Spartans are getting ready to host their twenty-fifth year of hosting the Holiday classic tournament and are entering the tournament with a record of three wins and one loss,. This record is purely based off of preseason tournament play. Last tournament the Red Bluff Lady Spartans ended the tournament with third place. Through all the years the tournament has taken place the Varsity Girls Red Bluff Coach: Julie White Colors: Navy, White City: Cottonwood, CA Mascot: Eagle West Valley The West Valley Eagles will be making their way to this years Holiday Classic tournament for their fourth year with their current coach, and have high expec- tations for not only Holiday Classic, but their basketball season this year. Some of their overall ex- pectations, are to improve game to game, week to week, and hope to turn that into yet another successful campaign. The only obstacle they feel they have, is that the team is still learning their teams strengths and weak- nesses. Overall Paradise has very enthusiastic group of players who are all commit- ted to overall excellence. In last years tournament the team placed seventh, and used that placing to prepare for the rest of their season. Last years teams overall record was 18-14. The teams record as of the time this ar- ticle was written is 4-3. Spartans have finished in the top three 15 times, which is the most of all of the teams in the Holiday Classic tournaments history. The Spartans first game of this year's tournament will be against the schools rival Corning High School. well together and have a deep team. Their goal is to keep their division 4 section title once again this season. Red Bluff Coach: Kathy Brandt Colors: Green, Gold City: Red Bluff, CA Mascot: Spartan Located in Humboldt County, California the Ferndale Wildcats will be making their fourth trip to Red Bluff High school to participate in this year's 2014 Holiday Classic Tournament and are looking forward to it. This team will be traveling the farthest of all the girls' teams in this year's tournament. Ferndale is a division 6 team coming from a school with only 150 students, and are coming off of their third consecutive D6 section title. The team has had to deal with the loss of a large group of senior players, but feel as though their winning tradition did indeed not graduate with those seniors. They have 5 returning players from last season, and four new players. The team is happy that for this year they now have three actual "big girls" down low playing post. Due to the fact they are such a small school, Ferndale feels that Holiday Classic will be a great opportunity for them to be able to have a challenge, and have a chance to play outside of their division against teams that they would not regularly play against in their normal season. Ferndale's overall biggest goal for this 2014-2015 season, is to defend their league and section title this year, as well as be known for their tenacious tendencies. In Last year's Holiday Classic tournament the Shas- ta Wolves competed to see who would be the champion of the tournament against their school rival Enterprise High School and received second place. The Shasta Wolves have been the tournament cham- pion five times, and have been in the top three a total of nine times. So far this season Shasta has a record of five wins and one loss. The team consits of 2 seniors, 9 juniors, 1 sopho- more, and freshman.
