TOWN OF DELAFIELD — A new fire station/town hall has been long overdue in the Town of Delafield, and on Dec. 6 a few supervisors got a sneak peek at the new digs. Town Chairman Paul Kan- ter along with Supervisors Clare Dundon, Cindi Duchow and Larry Krause walked through the 18,795- square-foot building at the corner of Maple Avenue and Silvernail Road with con- struction consultant John Mann leading the tour. "This is really going to be terrific — stunning," Kan- ter said of the building, which Mann said should be move-in ready early next summer. Construction began in August on the $3.95 million building. The 6,092-square- foot lower level of the build- ing will serve as the town hall portion and the 12,703- square-foot upper level will be the fire department. Kanter said it was inter- esting to be inside a build- ing after poring over plans for many, many months. "We have spent a lot of time on this," Duchow said. "We are very excited." — Sarah Pryor, Freeman Staff Sneak peek: Delafield town supervisors check out municipal building under construction Sarah Pryor/Freeman Staff Construction consultant John Mann, left, takes Town of Delafield Supervisors Clare Dundon and Larry Krause and Town Chairman Paul Kanter on a site tour for the new town hall/fire station.
