By BRIAN HUBER Conley News Service WAUKESHA — Gary Spaulding of North Prairie was in a good mood last Friday as he gassed up his Chevy Silverado at the Mobil sta- tion at 101 E. Broadway in Waukesha. It wasn't the same as when he recalled get- ting gas at the same site for 19 cents a gallon when he first started driving, but as prices dropped below $3 a gallon there Friday, he said it means saving as much as $15 a tank. "I'll find a use for it," he said. According to gasbuddy, the Mobil station and a Citgo station across the street were the cheapest in the area for a gallon of gas Friday. Corissa Adams of New Berlin said it was a gas price app on her phone that alerted her to the price there, so she stopped by Friday morn- ing to fill up her Mercury Monterey. The lower price found Friday means as much as a $20 a tank difference for her, Adams said, money that may go toward fun activities for her chil- dren. "Also it just helps to save it," she said. "Christmas is right around the corner." Harry Patel, manager at the Mobil station, said he's heard comments from customers about the falling prices in recent weeks, and they are generally happy about it. The era of "cheap gas" might be over, but motorists can expect to see relatively cheaper gas, at least in the short term. Erin Roth, executive director of the DID YOU KNOW?
