Found in a variety of places throughout
the county from old barns and gates to the
Tehama County Recorder's office and displays
at local museums, cattle brands have a long
history in Tehama County, dating back to its
origin in 1856.
More than 200 brands were registered at
the Tehama County Recorder's office in the
days before it was done on the state level,
according to Clerk and Recorder Bev Ross.
