Bluffer Staff Pick "It also allows you to change the amount you want to lose or gain at any time so that you can always go at your own pace." • In the movie, Edmund's character asked the White Witch if she could make him taller. Yet the actor, Skandar Keynes, grew over half a foot taller during filming. 'The Chronicles of Narnia: (2005) IF you can stomach its flaws, Destiny is a good game. Really rocking local band that definitely deserves a listen! "They took me back to classic rock, but they added a twist and a modern feel to it." The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe is the first of only three movies that had ever been made out of the seven books. Despite its horrible placement in the series as the second book yet the first movie, it was pretty decent. There was no evidence that there was an event preceding the Pensevie kids' arrival in Narnia through a wardrobe in some professor's house when they are sent away during World War Two while London is bombed. Performance, overall, was amazing, but the plot could have been carried out better. That's just because the plot is relatively simple; Four kids entering a magical world and being expected to save it, but one of them turns against the others, blah blah blah. Eventually, they are reunited, though, and they destroy the White Witch. However, the performance of all the actors and the lion was what really kept me at the edge of my seat, especially during the final battle in the valley between two mountains where the oldest kid, Peter, just destroys everything in his path EXCEPT the Witch herself. The lion really stunned me because the director used a REAL lion on set. I bet the actors had to sign some kind of waiver or something, but still. Back to the White Witch, it's funny that she winds up dead anyway, even though Peter didn't kill her. That part really blew the whole movie because everything leading up to the part where she dies was so climatic and then it was all over in like a couple seconds. So, overall, if you are an action fan, I recommend this movie. If you like drawn out battles and gore, then don't watch it because it blows in the end. No, I'm serious, the ending of the battle is the most anticlimactic ending of a battle I've ever seen since it's over in only a few seconds. It's okay, but the plot could have been just a little more complex. • Aslan is not only the name of the lion in the movie, but is also the Turkish word for "lion". Source: www.buisinessinsider.com Destiny is getting really big. It was the most pre- ordered game ever, and had one of the biggest budgets of any game, ever. Can it live up to all the hype? Nope. Don't get me wrong, Destiny is a good game. The game play is great, the skills and abilities are fun to use and the graphics are top notch, but the game is plagued with problems that keep the experience from being truly great. The biggest problem with Destiny is it's repetitive nature. Guns all look similar and generic, enemies are recycled, and the missions, oh the missions. Every single mission is the same: go here, kill some dudes, move over here, kill some dude, hey look at that! It's a dude you can kill. The missions start to drag, even with the tight game play. I have another big problem with Destiny: no couch co- op. If you want to play this game with a friend, they'll need a console of their own, and a separate copy of the game. I can't understand this omission. Do developers think gamers are so nerdy that they can't have real friends? Some of the best memories I have with gaming have been with friends, and this disappointment really hurt my enjoyment of the game. Destiny's social elements are all lacking as well. The only way one can communicate with other players is if they are on the same "fire team". This means you have to send someone an invitation to talk to them. Since no one really does this, Destiny feels quiet and devoid of life. Sure, there are other players around, but they are off doing their own missions. Even if you wanted to do a mission with a player you find out in the world, you can't. As soon as the mission starts each player goes to their own version of the game world. The story is bland, and not really worth mentioning. Despite the f laws, Destiny is a great foundation for a series. Moving around is really fun as each class has a special mobility power, like jet packs or teleportation. The bosses are epic and fun to fight, even if it takes forever. Working with other players, even if you can't communicate, is fun and rewarding. So, I recommend Destiny. If you can look past all that, a whole lot of fun awaits. A great app for measuring diet and weight! I am not the type of person to do band or music reviews, but Band Master Ruckus is an exception to my rule. They are a local band coming straight from Red Bluff who produce their own music,.They performed at the high school during lunch and collected quite the crowd. At the time I didn't know who they were, but I liked them off the bat. They also preform in Chico and Sacramento. The more they play the more popular they get and they are becoming even more successful. I got one of their albums to jam out to in the car and started to investigate the music. They took me back to classic rock, but they added a twist and a modern feel to it. There was a vibe of young energy in the way they played. I enjoyed jamming to them in my car. The vocals in a song are pretty important because when people who don't know anything about music, they can still relate to a lead singer and the lyrics. Brad Dufour's voice was on point. I love his voice and it really fits with all of their songs. The music is really interesting too. Some may listen to it and just hear rock music, but if you actually listen it is quite different. All the instruments, a guitar, bass and drums, are strong participants in the song. You can clearly hear all of the different instruments; however they aren't competing or clashing in the songs. They mix well and complement each other perfectly. My favorite song from their album is "Kill the King". It is super fun to listen to and actually has depth. The only critique I could find was that songs resembled each other a little too much. Sometimes they all kind of blended together for me. The songs all gave me the same vibe. I want to listen to a little more diversity. They switched up tempos and beats a bit, but I was looking for a little something more. However, I have only listened to their one album so that opinion might be a little biased. It is hard for me to picture a local band, coming from Red Bluff of all places, making it with their music. I was shocked when I first listened to them! I was expecting this hokey music with lame lyrics and no potential. They were the exact opposite. When I heard them Bandmaster Ruckus didn't even sound like a local band! They sounded clean, professional, interesting and entertaining. Some people have started in Red Bluff and gone places with their passions. If any band can have side jobs while putting their everything into their music, they deserve respect and props. I believe this band has the talent to make it. I am looking forward to their next album!
