August 27, 2014 See Page 9 for Details Aug. 28 - Sept. 1 Ozaukee Guide Recommends Revolutionary War Re-enactment and Encampment Labor Day Weekend Sat, Aug 30 and Sun, Aug 31~ 10am-5pm Members of the Northwest Territory Alliance will again be camped out at Ozaukee County Pioneer Village on Labor Day Weekend 2014. This annual event brings us re-enactments of life and battles during the Revolutionary War. The NWTA is a non-profit educational organization that studies and recreates the culture, lifestyle, and arts at the time of the American Revolution, 1775-1783. The members strive to duplicate the uniforms, weapons, battlefield tactics and camp life of the era as accurately as possible. The NWTA is organized into military units, each representing an actual regiment at a specific time during the American Revolution. Uniforms and accouterments are scrupulously researched, documented and reproduced. You will find rebels, Tories, mercenaries frontiersmen, townsfolk, farmers, craftsmen, and merchants from America, England, Germany and France. Members camp out at the Village for the weekend, cook meals over campfires and live life as it would have been lived during the American Revolution. Come experience and learn a bit of history from these members who truly have a unique hobby. The grounds at Ozaukee County Pioneer Village will be open each day from 10 am-5 pm. Battles will be staged on both Saturday and Sunday at 11 am and 4 pm. Come watch and learn as the narrator describes battle strategy. Food and beverages will be available in the Pioneer Village Hall and historical demonstrators will be sharing their skills throughout the village. Parking is free.
