And if you're hoping to see the latest in home design, the 2014 Parade of Homes event is showcas- ing the latest in layouts, appliances and energy efficiency. The event runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends and Labor Day through Sept. 1. It features three subdivisions, 21 homes and 18 builders and show- cases the best of the best, said Natalie Lemke, communications manager at the Metropolitan Builders Association. "All three Parade of Homes sub- divisions will feature brand-new homes highlighting some of the newest technology, the latest interi- or and exterior design and decorat- ing trends," she said. The Hawks Glen subdivision in Mequon will showcase seven homes, the Twin Pine Farm subdi- vision in the Town of Lisbon will feature six homes, and the Victoria Station subdivision in Pewaukee will display eight houses. The homes range from 1,700 square feet to almost 6,000 square feet and include a combination of two-story structures and ranches, Lemke said. Home builders for the Hawks Glen subdivision in Mequon include Kaerek Homes, Inc.; Kings Way Homes LLC; Korndo- erfer Homes; Mikkelson Builders; SCI Select Homes LLC; Victory Homes of Wisconsin Inc.; and Westridge Builders Inc. Home builders for Victoria Sta- tion in Pewaukee include Allan Builders LLC; Bielinski Homes; Halen Homes LLC; Homes By Towne; J. Anthony Homes & Designs LLC; Kaerek Homes Inc.; Korndoerfer Homes; and Tim O'Brien Homes. Home builders for Twin Pine Farm in Lisbon include Aspen Homes Inc.; Belman Homes Inc.; Demlang Builders Inc.; Joseph Douglas Homes; Victory Homes of Wisconsin Inc.; and Wood- haven Homes & Realty Inc. Some of the unique elements included in this year's houses are finished lower levels with theater rooms, green features such as geot- hermal heating and cooling, in addition to new Kohler fixtures, including a motionless faucet and digital shower, Lemke said. Whether you're looking to build, buy or remodel, the Parade of Homes is a perfect place to get some creative ideas, she said. "Visiting the Parade of Homes is a great way to get design ideas for your current home, or talk to local builders if you are thinking about building a new home," she said. Adult tickets purchased at the gate are $10, and senior-child tick- ets are $6. There are also special promotions throughout the event, including two-for-one ticket prices Aug. 18 and Aug. 25. Lemke said attendees also can vote for their favorite homes, rooms, landscaping and interior design to be entered to win a prize package, including a $500 Visa gift card and a lawn care package. There's something here for everyone, Lemke said, and attend- ing the event will give you the opportunity to talk with some of the best in the business. "People interested in building or buying a new home, remodeling or gathering ideas for home-improve- ment projects will have the oppor- tunity to interact with the area's top experts in the field during the event," she said. The subdivision entrance is south off HIgh- land Road on Hawks Glen Drive. The Twin Pine Farm is located on Lake Five Road, west of Highway 164 between Plainview Road and County Line Road (Highway Q) in the Town of Lisbon. The subdivision is west off Lake Five Road on Perennial Terrace. Victoria Station in Pewaukee can be reached from Interstate 94 by taking Highway F north to Duplainville Road, then north to the subdivision, located on the west side of the road.
