21 Diversity Rules Magazine August 2014 Las Vegas - Con't from page 20 bonus questions. Each one has to do with something along the route. For instance, this hunt asked us to calculate our winnings at a gambling table, and then to find a piece of art and to enter the color of one of its components. Later questions involves things like counting the num- ber of exposed breasts on statues at Caesars (don't forget the men!), and doing a word search puzzle using clues from the Arc de Triomphe at the Paris Hotel. Along the way, you're also guided to refreshment options. It takes about 2 to 3 hours, and you learn a lot about the area you are visiting, including some out-of-the-way things you might never run across on your own. e pricing on the tours is very reasonable – $50 for the group, not individually. And when you complete one tour, you get a discount code good for the next one. e cover many major cities – we've already tried Sacramento, San Francisco, and now Las Vegas. THE HIGH ROLLER: After a little shopping adven- ture along the LinQ, we arrived at the High Roller, the new and apparently tallest observation wheel in the world. e High Roller takes about 30 minutes to make one revolution, or about a mile an hour. It's slower than an elevator – even if you have balance is- sues, you shouldn't have any problem with this. Our tickets were for 7:30 PM – we timed it so that we would be in the air around the time of twilight. at way, you catch all the lights of Vegas, with the beauti- ful twilight as background – the deep blue that makes your photos look amazing. e ride itself was fantastic. About 15 minutes of it obviously wasted time, where you're not high enough to see much of anything. But the other 15 minutes – simply amazing. Incredible. It's hard to find words to describe it. e car is spacious, and air-conditioned. It can hold up to 40 people comfortably, but ours only had about 20 – plenty of room to move around and take pictures From all different angles. But the star the show is the direction facing the Bellagio, Paris, and City Center. Our only regret – it was too windy for the water show at the Bellagio lake - that would have looked truly amazing. But otherwise, the trip around the wheel was simply stunning. We did some panoramic pictures of the iPhone, and also took some pictures with our night mode on our Cyber-Shot camera. Both turned out amazing. e other great time to do this would be sometime in the early afternoon, before the sun gets too far to the west. Tickets are $25 a person during the daytime, and in the evening they were $35 a person. Well worth it for this view. KRAVE: Krave is the only gay club along the Strip. e old Krave gclub was at the Aladdin Hotel before it became Planet Hollywood - that one closed down when the new Krave Massive opened up in downtown Las Vegas in 2013. Unfortunately that version of the club, billed as the largest in the world, closes down fairly quickly due to licensing issues with the city. Now, there's a new Krave nightclub on the strip, re- opened by the original owner, now at 3765 Las Vegas Blvd, across from the Monte Carlo. Unfortunately, it's only open on Friday and Saturday nights. We were here Sunday Monday and Tuesday, so we were out of luck. Ace Lundon Releases New CD! Get your copy NOW at: www.acelundon.us
