Tehama County Medical Guide- 2014 5 A Picture in a Heartbeat To the average patient, the news that a test will be done on a 32-slice CT scanner, instead of a 64-slice scanner, doesn't mean much. What may mean a lot, however, is that a scan on the newer machine will take less time and expose you to less radiation than other models. And that is the type of up-to-date, current imaging service St. Elizabeth Imaging Center offers. Quicker imaging also means less radiation exposure. How much less may depend on factors such as the type of test being done. A Leap Forward in Patient Care The St. Elizabeth Imaging Center offers a variety of services. Most of us are familiar with an x-ray, but the St. Elizabeth Imaging Center delivers services beyond this foundational diagnostic. Digital mammography, Breast MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and MRI are additional services offered. We also provide CT scans, Ultrasound, Dexa Scans, Non- Invasive Vascular Testing, and Nuclear Medicine in the Imaging Center. One little known fact about our imaging services is PET/CT. Often used to take a closer look inside the body, this technology combines the power of a PET scan and a CT scan. This examination provides a more thorough diagnoses for your physician. And as always, all of our tests can be transmitted to your provider digitally. If you need imaging services, you can stay close to home in a pleasing setting. Our private women's salon waiting area creates a comforting environment, while our public waiting area creates a serene setting overlooking a beautiful koi pond. We also offer lab draw services in the Imaging Center as well as self-referral mammography appointments-no physician referral needed. Our Imaging Center is open M-F 8 am - 4:30 pm.
