Page 7 May 30, 2014 Arts and Entertainment Amusing and somewhat addictive! 'Neighbors' entertains on Taylor Nguyen Staff Writer The new comedy 'Blended' stars actors Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Although this romantic comedy was quite predictable, it's still a rather feel good movie. Following a disastrous blind date at, of all places, Hooters, they can't get away from each other quick enough, but fate keeps pushing them into each others' paths. Single parents Jim Friedman and Lauren Reynolds coincidentally find themselves and their kids stuck sharing an exotic vacation at a safari resort in South Africa. Adam Sandler stars as Jim Friedman as a sports salesman and widower father of three girls, Hilary, Espn, and Lou, who need a dad, and Drew Barrymore plays Lauren Reynolds as a professional closet organizer and divorced mother of two boys, Brendan and Tyler, who need a mom. Both parents are more than a tad bit clueless when it comes to raising their opposite sex kids; therefore, it's easy to say they need each other. There's quite a warm feeling when you watch Jim play sports with Lauren's sons, and Lauren giving Jim's daughters makeovers. Although this film was quite predictable, it was still entertaining. At first it was difficult for the Friedmans and the Reynolds to warm up to one another as they try go through the sleeping arrangements and forced sightseeing, but soon obsessed the general population is with money and the idea of being rich by showing a witty quote about greed every time you open the game. This game is perfect for simple gamers that don't want anything to complicated or time consuming because you can really come back to this game whenever you want without any effect to your score. It is also perfect conversational piece because of its original and humorous premise that definitely outshines other conventional games. This app may look simple and easy to get bored with but the reality is the opposite, with this surprisingly addicting and entertaining game. A predictable plot, but still lots of silly fun! Savannah Sutliff Topics Editor Make it Rain: The Love of Money is a newly released app for gamers that has a simple yet addicting format of literally just making it rain as much cash as you possibly can. At the beginning of the game you can make it rain one dollar bills, while also earning a small amount of money for just having the app open along with a bucket that catches money every hour even when you have the app closed. As your money starts to build up you can start buying upgrades that can make the money you rain more valuable, increase the money you make just by having the app open and increase the size of your bucket so you can make more money with the app closed. But be careful because you can also be investigated by the FBI and if you are found guilty you could lose money and have the money you make downgraded. There are also fun animations like money clips that change as you advance in the game as well as fun sound effects that really make it sound like you are raining tons of cash. This app also tries to show the gamers just how 'Make it Rain: The Love of Money' 'Neighbors'; released on May 9 2014; was unexpectedly a great comedy. It's definitely a movie recommended for young adults, and NOT for young children. If you are old enough to understand its humor, then you will find this movie very enjoyable. The movie stars a great cast including, Seth Hogan, Rose Byrne, Zac Efron, and Dave Franco. The movie kicks off when Mac Radner (Hogan), and Kelly Radner (Byrne), move into a new neighborhood with their newborn baby. The couple anticipates raising their child in a nice, new, quiet and safe environment. Little did they know, a fraternity would soon be moving in next door to demolish all the dreams they had about creating a quiet and safe environment to raise their newborn baby. The couple decides to approach the fraternity and ask them to "keep it down" in hopes that they will be respected. They approach the noise problem in a variety of different ways, and when they finally call the cops, the fraternity makes their life a living hell. After many obstacles and obligations, the couple decides to move to another neighborhood, but they can't because they have put all of their savings into this new house. So instead, the couple makes a plan against the frat house. The humor really kicks into the film when both neighbors battle heads with each other to "move them out". I thought it was really interesting to see Zac Efron play in a comedy such as 'Neighbors', and he did a really good job with it. The whole cast played their parts fairly well. 'Neighbors' is most likely the funniest movie I have seen this year, and I really dig the movie as a whole. This is a movie that is must see in theatres and even after you've watched it there, I'd go buy it on DVD. I have not heard any negative commentary from audiences about the movie. Kylee Bonds Staff Writer Well cast and an all over great comedy for the mature audience. the kids are happily riding ostriches, improving at sports and getting glam makeovers. Meanwhile, Lauren get s buttoned-up for parasailing and Jim actually combs his hair to impress the obvious love intrest. This movie isn't just happy and carefree, there are also some touching scenes that had happened to make me teary eyed. It's also filled with authentic African music, old favorites and new songs. "Blended" starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore was a rather entertaining romantic comedy. Even though this particular film was quite predictable, I still enjoyed it. Grey Grotke A&E Editor The story begins with a small insight into the life of Joe Brody. He lives in Japan in peace with his wife and son, as a manager at a nuclear power plant. Soon after we have been introduced to the characters, disaster strikes. The nuclear power plant Brody works at is taken down by some force, but not by Godzilla. The military tries to claim that the incident is nothing but an earthquake, and the city surrounding the power plant is quarantined off. The secrets build up, as does the tension, and it makes the final revealing of the titanic monsters that much more epic. The appearance of other massive creatures brings up Godzilla, the alpha predator of a lost age, back up from the seas. Without giving away too much, there will be monster fights of a grand scale, and it will be glorious. Obviously I have my own positive opinion on this movie, but from a completely objective point of view, this movie has a lot of problems. A myriad, to be honest. The number of logical errors in this movie are uncountable. Obviously one would expect there to be clear problems with the science of a movie about a giant lizard, wrecking whole cities. Even beyond that, however, there are clear errors in many of the peoples actions and the probability of certain events. The characters in the movie also aren't particularly interesting, but that isn't why anyone is coming to this movie, and ultimately, regardless of how many other aspects the movie is lacking in, it makes up for it for its level of epicenes. This movie features a giant lizard fighting stuff and it's awesome! Godzilla, the king of monsters, the massive reptile who has lumbered through sixty years of film, burned through dozens of comics, movies, and episodes with atomic fire, has reemerged from the depths once more. 'Godzilla' is the newest film of the Godzilla series, it stars Bryan Lee Cranston as the eccentric scientist Joe Brody and his son the soldier Ford Brody (Aaron Taylor- Johnson). Though the roles are decently acted, the characters don't necessarily require great acting, as the roles were relatively simple. Not to say the movie wasn't unenjoyable, merely that this was a Godzilla movie, and thus its primary appeal is in its ruthless destruction and, though the older films might not have done a good job of this, a feeling of complete terror. infect a large amount of people at single time. Eventually you will infect the entire world and will then begin to kill all the infected by evolving your bacteria to have fatal side effects such as tumors, p n e u m o n i a , or total organ failure. But the more attention your bacteria gets the more the world tries to create a cure for it. You lose when you have no more infected people. If you've ever wanted a pretty accurate simulator to infect the world this game is definitely for you. This game is very unique and very addicting app that has brought me a lot of hours of joy and mild regret for killing so many people. But then I realize Ryan Fisher Sports Editor Plague Inc. is a fairly new addicting app on both Apple and Google Play stores where you have to infect the world's p o p u l a t i o n with your very own bacteria and then kill . The game starts out with your choice of country to infect first. You will slowly but surely start i n f e c t i n g the entire country. You must then evolve your bacteria so that it spread faster and in different ways. The way you pay to evolve is with DNA which can be received when new countries are infected or randomly when you Strategic and plenty of fun! that it's all fake and in no way am I infecting the world with a seemingly harmless bacterium and then killing them all. It can be hard at times though because you have to juggle your DNA points, watching the percentage of a cure that is going on and trying to evolve your disease without killing everyone first. Another feature is after you win with the bacteria you will unlock the virus which is even harder to beat the game then the bacteria. There's just so many ways you could possibly kill all the humans with! If you like fun strategy simulation apps then I encourage you to download this game!
