'X-Men: Days of Furture Past' solidifies a great summer lineup Page 4 May 30, 2014 Arts and Entertainment Jeff Mandolfo Staff Writer Bluffer Staff Pick 'Eternal Sunshine of New strategy game compared to 2048 and Flappy Bird, popularity rising The new "X-Men" movie that came out on May 23 was seriously awesome. The overall plot was laid out early on, but it had twists and turns no ordinary person could have predicted. Well, okay, maybe Stan Lee, the original writer of the comic book series, "X-Men" could have predicted this movie. It's the latest installment to the popular movie series that started sweeping us all together back in about 2000, but you're in for a wild ride to kick off summer with this one. Not all credit should go to the plot. There were also some epic characters, too. By epic, I mean, well, actors having the ability to blow your mind and keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole movie. Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, embarks on a quest to save the world with lots of drama, dishy romance (in the beginning), and of course non-stop action. A big curveball that opens it up in the beginning is that Wolverine must travel back in time to save the planet. Now that you've been caught up, let's get to the actors. This movie was insane! The movie brought back old but still amazing heroes such as Storm, who can control weather, played by none other than Halle Berry. At the same time, it introduced new heroes, though one is more of a cross between a hero and a criminal. That hero/criminal is Evan Peters, Movies Recap X-Men: Days of Future Past: The legendary films live again. Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry. Another great, late night cult classic horror!! whose character is Quicksilver, and has superhuman speed and reflexes. He's a really good actor, and brings lots of comedy to a jailbreak scene that will make you laugh your socks off. Truly, this is a cast that will interest you just by looking at the list. There are a lot of people in the film, but most of the main characters you should easily recognize. Overall, the movie had a very strong plot, and an unbelievable cast. It really couldn't have been much better. Though to me, it could have used a really big explosion somewhere in all the action. That would have made it even better. The movie is totally worth your time, and I recommend seeing it with friends. The more, the merrier with this film. My only criticism is that the cast struggled to make a strong connection with the audience and they could have edited a few scenes to make the connection much stronger. However, they did very good with carrying the plot to the end and keeping it really strong throughout. Also, there was plenty of action to go around. This fun, unpredictable, wild movie and is the best way to start your summer vacation. Good movie to kick of the summer season!! Also known as Piano Tiles, this game has already had more than 5 million downloads and counting in just a couple of months that it has been out. It is in the top 5 free apps in the iTunes Store. The different settings it has makes this game almost never boring with an everlasting drive to play it. It has a classic mode, zen mode, rush mode, relay mode, and the most played of all, the arcade mode. Classic mode is where you are timed to hit a certain number of tiles and is fun because you always want to beat your best time. Zen mode is fun because you have 15 or 30 seconds to hit as many black tiles as you can. Rush mode is kind of like the arcade mode except it stays one speed, which is still really fast. Relay mode gives you 8, 10, or 12 seconds to hit 50 black tiles and if you succeed you get the same number of seconds added on to hit another 50 tiles. And the most played of them all, the arcade mode. The arcade mode starts off slow and gets faster and faster as you keep hitting the tiles. With all apps, they each have some individual problems. Some people say the updated version is slower and less responsive than it used to be which makes the game harder to play because you're always dying. With that said, players often times stop playing after a while because trying to play gets so frustrating. Something that really sticks out is when it says "take a break". That doesn't send out a good vibe about the game to most people and it makes some wonder if it's really a good game to be playing. Personally, enjoy this game for the most part and would recommend it for anyone who wants a new app to play on their phone. Blender gives animators a creative outlet Blender is a professional-grade graphic design and animation program. It can be used to create just about anything, from animated movies to sci-fi action scenes to incredibly realistic images. This program is available to download for free from the Blender Foundation website. While it may take some experience to use, you don't exactly need a college degree in graphic design to make something really cool. Tutorial videos for Blender can be found on the internet. It may seem complicated at times, but with some practice, you can be experienced enough to have fun and make something that you'll be satisfied with later. The program does not require an incredibly beefy computer. With the simplified view of the edit mode, an average laptop will be productive enough to make quality work. Although it is possible to make ultra-realistic images with this program, I found that there were many components of the program that I have never used (by many, I mean the majority of the tools). I did not feel the need to make my models look as though they were sitting right in front of me. While my creations did not look all that realistic, I was still content with the looks of my models as they were, as I did spend many hours making them as detailed as my skills allowed. I was also compelled to get better at making good models, as every later model got better and better. Aside from still-standing images, this program also allows you to animate the model with motion. Though this may seem like too much on top of all the gadgets and gizmos of making the stand-still model alone, adding motion to the model makes the final product that much more satisfying. The mechanics of the editing system are much easier to use than a 3D drafting program. Aside from the fact that this is an animation program and not a drafting program, this is significant to me because of google.com/images google.com/images google.com/images Clementine who is very spirited and impulsive decides to have Joel erased from her memory by a company called Lacuna. When Joel finds out what Clementine has done realizing that he is now a stranger to the love of his life he decides he also wants to erase all memories of Clementine from his mind. The procedure that erases Joel's memories involves going through every memory he has ever had of Clementine and erasing it completely after he has relived it in his mind, but as he relives some of the most important parts of his relationship he decides he no longer wants to erase them and tries to fight against the procedure in his subconscious. This film is genuini n not only the question that it addresses (if you had the ability to erase a memory from your past, would you?), but it also incorporates great acting and a stellar screenplay. This movie is definitely worth your time and money.t Savannah Sutliff Topics Editor 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' was released in 2004 and received both critical and commercial success , including an academy award, for best original screenplay. Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind was written by Charlie Kaufman and has an ensemble cast including Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Kirsten Dunst, Mark Ruffalo, Elijah Wood, Tom Wilkinson, Jane Adams, and David Cross. The plot of this independent film follows the story of Joel Barish (Jim Carrey) and Clementine Kruczynski (Kate Winslet) a couple deeply in love but unable to keep their relationship from tearing them apart. This program is meant for not only straight-edged objects, but smoothly rounded objects as well. The system has a feature called subdividing, which allows the user to make an object smooth while controlling only a handful of points. This program is a great way to pass time, and have something to show for the time you spent on your creation. When you can sit and look at something impressive that you created, it makes it worthwhile. Godzilla: New adaption of giant monkey classic. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen.
