she never has at home or school and even though she has to hide the whole experience from her parents she will do whatever it takes to play the sport she loves. Along her adventures as a derby girl Bliss experiences her first love parties and a fare share of heart break. This movie is a inspiring story about following your heart and doing whatever it takes to find true happiness, this film also highlights a little known sport that although is growing in popularity is generally unheard of. If you like movies about tough chicks and personal triumphs you will love this movie and there is nothing better than watching someone become their very own hero. Infamy lives on in the solid 'Infamous: Second Son' Page 4 April 17, 2014 Arts and Entertainment Adam Swarthout Editorial Editor Bluffer Staff Pick 'Whip It' (2009) Kill time with fun app: 'Hill Climb Racing' 'Infamous: Second Son' is the PS4's first big exclusive. It's a continuation of the Infamous series of games, which have always been a favorite of mine, so I will try to be unbiased in this review. That being said, this games will rock your body hard. It's good. Not perfect, but a lot fun. If you don't know what kind of game this is, it's a super- hero/villain game. The player takes control of Delsin Rowe, a directionless renegade with something to prove. You get to decide whether he become a righteous guardian of the people, or a wrathful thug. This game has a moral choice system just like the previous games did. It's less prominent than in the previous games. It really only affects the ending though. I like Delsin's character quite a lot. He's a bit of a prat, but a likeable prat. He jokes around and likes to feel rebellious. Not a revolutionary or very original character, but he was likeable enough. The true star of this game is the powers. The game's unique and beautiful abilities really keep it fun and lively. The first ability you get is smoke, which let's you turn into smoke and Jeff Mandolfo Staff Writer Savannah Sutlif Topics Editor 'Whip It' was released in 2009 and is based on the novel 'Derby Girl' by Shauna Cross and is directed by well known actress Drew Barrymore, who also stars in the film. The movie follows the story of Bliss Cavendar (Ellen Page), a m i s u n d e r s t o o d girl in the small town of Bodeen, Texas whose mother Brooke (Marcia Gay Harden) a former Texas beauty queen is always forces her into pageants which she openly despises. On a shopping trip with her mother to get new pageant supplies Bliss comes across a flyer for a Roller Derby match and it instantly strikes her interest. Later Bliss and her best friend Pash (Alia Martine Shawkat) sneak away to see a derby game for themselves and tell their unapproving parents they are going to support their football team at an away game. Both of the girls fall in love with the sport and on their way out of the match get offered to try out for the Hurl Scout Derby team which consists of such stars as Kristen Wiig, Drew Barrymore, and Eve as derby girls. Bliss builds up the courage to tryout but Pash is to shy so bliss faces it alone and it turns out to be a life changing experience for her. After making the team Bliss feels she finally fits in the way Bluffer Movie Weekend Recap Draft Day- Kevin Costner, Jennifer Garner Oculus- Karen Gillian, Brenton Thwaites Noah- Russel Crowe, Emma Watson Divergent- Shailane Woodley, Theo James God's Not Dead- Kevin Sorbo, Shane Harper Drew Barrymore is a super hotty throw fireballs. It feels very quick, and it let's you pass through mesh objects like chain linked fences. Another cool power is neon, which let's you fire beams of multi-colored light from your hands. You can also run up a building at high speed with sweet neon-feet, so that's cool too. The most disappointing part of this game was the characters. The last Infamous game had interesting characters and a nice story, setting standards for this game kind of high. Unfortunately, it doesn't really reach those expectations. The characters are alright, but they aren't very well developed and don't really have satisfying conclusions. The story is fairly plain, and it's ending is predictable. All in all, Infamous Second Son is the best game for the PS4 so far. It's really fun, and makes you feel like a dynamo of super-human energy. If you have the means, get a PS4 and check it out. Great game, characters don't live up to the prequels Josiah Vasey Editor-in-Chief One Stop Gas Station Open 5am-11pm RBHS students buy hot food & get a 24oz soda for ONLY 99ยข Your One Stop Convenience Store 714 Walnut St. Red Bluff Good way to spend class time " Hill Climb Racing is worth hours of entertainment, as the player is driven to improve their vehicles and unlock new tracks." 'Hill Climb Racing' is a two- dimensional distance-driving game. As one of the more obscure mobile games, 'Hill Climb Racing' is not as popular of a conversation topic as other games; however it is still played by almost as many people. It is a simple and fun survival game, making for a great pastime. In 'Hill Climb Racing', the goal is to drive as far as you can. You drive your choice of vehicle on your choice of stage, and keep going as long as possible before either running out of fuel or crashing. Along the drive, coins are placed in recurring clusters throughout the track. The coins progressively increase in value as you go farther into the track. Aside from collecting the coins themselves, coins can also be earned by getting airtime and doing flips. Coins are used to upgrade vehicles, unlock new tracks, or unlock new vehicles. However, the main purpose of coins is to purchase vehicle upgrades. These upgrades are divided into categories, four per vehicle. Each vehicle can have a different set of upgrades that get increasingly expensive as they are raised to progressing levels. The upgrades allow the vehicle to go faster, go farther, and better handle the terrain. The vehicles are very diverse, including vehicles such as a Jeep, a snowmobile, and even a tank. The different vehicles work best for certain terrains, giving the player an adequate sense of openness in choices. The terrain type varies between different tracks. The player could be anywhere from slipping and sliding on snow to mowing down miniature pine trees in a forest. Each track's terrain gets increasingly treacherous as the player progresses. The game is always updating. There's always a new track or vehicle to keep the game fresh. Hill Climb Racing is worth hours of entertainment, as the player is driven to improve their vehicles and unlock new tracks. Hill Climb Racing is a great game for the casual gamer. Captain America kicks butt in the sequel, (this one's better) The winter falls on Captain America in this action filled sequel google.com/images 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' is a 1970's style conspiracy thriller with a constant theory that no one can be trusted. This is a reoccurring theme throughout the entire movie that keeps the viewer locked in for the duration of the entire movie. This movie also has a great deal of action which f lows very well when watched in 3D. The special effects are very well put together in this movie which also adds to the overall experience of viewing it in 3D. This movie is an adequate sequel to the first Captain America movie and f lows accordingly. A q u e s t i o n a b l e character shows up early in the movie creating added suspense to the story line and creating chaos among the S.H.I.E.L.D. Corporation. The allies that he creates will drastically change the outcome of the story and without them, the mission to shut down Hydra would not have been possible. The technology used to create all the different forms of weaponry is definitely very far into the future, but it does not in any way come across as "corny" or unrealistic. A large part in the plot of the movie was close quarters hand to hand combat that was to satisfy all action junkies alike. With all of that action you would expect some blood, but not in this movie. The amount of gore was very manageable with little to none in each scene. Also, the action in turn brings a very nice plot that is going to sit well with any Captain America enthusiast. Toward the end of the movie, SPOILER ALERT, Captain America and The Winter Soldier battle it out, resulting in Captain America saving the day and stopping the world wide mass murder. After the warship starts coming to the ground, Captain America saves The Winter Soldier from immediate death and there old friendship between him and his old pal Bucky Barnes is reunited. Overall, this action, suspense, conspiracy thriller is a great movie to add to your
