By ADAM LINDEMER Conley News Service MILWAUKEE – The burger deemed "Milwaukee's Best Cheeseburger" has arrived at Miller Park. AJ Bombers opened a location inside the home of the Milwaukee Brewers as one of the changes that's been made to the ball- park. "This was a long time in the making actually," AJ Bombers' co-owner Joe Sorge said. "The interest has been there for a few years, and in the last six months, things moved relatively quickly." Sorge owns the business with his wife, Angie. The simply known Milwaukee Burger was given that high honor from the Travel Channel show "Food Wars." "Well, we're known for that Milwaukee Burger, but we also have some interesting combinations," Sorge said. Also on the menu is the Barrie Burger, a bacon cheeseburger topped with peanut butter. And the combinations don't stop at burg- ers either, as AJ Bombers will also serve frozen custard, with a Nutella and banana mixture being one flavor of sundae. The frozen custard staple will be Bernie's Concrete Mixer, which is vanilla custard with caramel corn, peanuts and caramel sauce. "We're known for having our unique combinations," Sorge said. The Miller Park location will be the third overall for AJ Bombers, with another location in downtown Milwaukee on North Water Street, as well as a Madison location, on West Gorham Street. "I think this will be as much help to the Madison location as the Madison location has been for here (Milwaukee)," Sorge said. "I could not be happier." Miller Park made a few other changes to the stadium, as well. The seating area known as the "Toyota Territory" has been expanded from a 24- seat capacity to more than 100. The concourse level will seat 75 people and will be open to all fans during regular- season home games. Seating and high-top tables will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. "I think this will be one of the first places that fans will come to," Brewers' Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger said. A raised portion of the new section that holds 30 people will be open to all fans dur- ing 41 regular-season games. Even Miller Park mainstay TGIFriday's received a slight makeover with adjust- ments to its entry as well as new tabletops, ceiling fans and a new bar area and stools. Senior Director of Business Operations Teddy Werner said the changes were made to stay consistent with most of the other franchise locations. Fans will also be able to get their hands on game-used apparel, as the stadium will be displaying game-used items available for purchase. "Fans can pre-order or purchase things here," Schlesinger said. "They can do as they see fit. This will be a big deal as far as merchandise." Such items available will be game balls, with batter, pitcher and outcome indicated on the encased ball. Jerseys, hats, helmets, lineup cards and bases are among the sev- eral items for purchase. To see the items, the kiosk is located behind Section 111 of Miller Park. "Some items will have the dirt and sweat that shows it actually was being worn," Schlesinger said.
