A Friday, January 10, 2014 family affair with a truly delicious twist, M Cupcakes N Pastries has been baking gourmet pastries and treats for friends, family members and now for discerning bakery lovers for two years. M Cupcakes N Pastries offers everything from scones, blueberry muffins, and gourmet cupcakes to brioche, pastries, mini-cakes and "macarons" — a sweet, meringue-based confection made with eggs, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond and food coloring — as well as other luscious dessert items. A number of the items are gluten free. All are absolutely delicious. Margarita Venoyra accompanied her daughter to La Cordon Bleu in Pasadena to check out the program. Margarita ended up signing up for the 11-month pastry program. On the wall is her chef apron and hat with two cords — one for graduating with honors, the other for perfect attendance. Margarita knows the best ingredients are fresh ingredients. Using European butter and Belgian chocolate, then following each recipe to the letter including careful monitoring of weights and measurements and exact temperatures for everything from blending to baking, the many specialty items at M Cupcakes N Pastries are as beautifully finished as they are delicious. Her son Hilario III has his degree in Biotech Engineering and Chemistry. He is enjoying his time at M Cupcakes N Pastries, comparing the laboratory where he studied to the kitchen — a lab of another sort — and applying the same attention to detail to every recipe. M Cupcakes N Pastries has a variety of macarons available, with seasonal recipes finding great favor with customers. Pomegranate and pumpkin were two favorite selections during the month of December, and throughout the year the mix-and-match of a dozen macarons would be a delightful hostess gift as well as a gift for any occasion. The cookies are colorful and delicious, and the flavors are unmistakable. When Margarita decided to open her own shop, she relied on Colleen Butcher of RavenTek Realty to find the perfect location. If you are out with friends and want somewhere nifty for coffee and pastries or perhaps a lovely afternoon tea, M Cupcakes N Pastries is ready to serve you. Teas are prepared and served European style, poured from teapots into china teacups. You can have your tea with milk, too, if you prefer. Their coffee is gourmet, too — San Francisco Bay coffee M Cupcakes & Pastries will cater your next party, shower or get-together.
