MORE THAN 70,000 IN ILLINOIS
A new report sponsored by DePaul University and the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce estimates that there are currently more
than 70,000 Hispanic-owned businesses generating more than $15 billion a year in the State
of Illinois.
The study, based on 2007 Census data and a
2012 survey reveal that the growth of the Latino
business segment is consistent with that of the 43
percent growth during the 2002 to 2007 period,
when 56,500 Latino business were registered.
Regardless, not all of the results of the study were
positive for the Latino community. Omar Duque,

registros.

registrado más de medio millón de
visitas y 250,000 personas ya han
solicitado seguro médico a través
de este programa, diseñado particularmente para los 60 millones de
personas que, se supone, viven sin
seguro de salud en el país.
De acuerdo con los panelistas,
alrededor de 4000 hispanos han
visitado getcoverageillinois.gov/es y
unos 2000 ya se han inscrito.
