center stage; one served raw on the halfshell with "hog wash" sauce, and the other
grilled with melted chipotle-bourbon butter. We master the technique for "shooting"
raw oysters, and toast the day with glasses
of local Heidrun Sage Blossom Sparkling
Honey Meade.
Satiated, we drive back to Point Reyes
Station where Hill hands us our purchases
in canvas tote-bags personalized with her
company logo — a thoughtful take-home
memento of our tour. "I feel honored to live
here and showcase these wonderful local
food producers," she says, sending us off
with fond memories and a new appreciation for the diverse food culture of beautiful
West Marin.
