Entertainment Now | October 28 - November 3, 2023 20 | By Caroline Collacutt TV Media G ood food and good sto- ries — that's what makes a perfect meal. And having tried every- thing — from acting to modeling to competitive swimming — be- fore becoming a professional res- taurateur, this Peruvian chef cer- tainly has a lot to share. New epi- sodes of "Hot Dish With Franco" air Saturdays on Food Network. During this series, "Franco shares personal heartfelt stories of his Peruvian and Italian roots as he prepares delicious dishes with his signature flare for fla- vor," Food Network describes. "From quick and easy weeknight meals to brunch and classic Latin dishes with a twist, all of Fran- co's food is easy, accessible and brings people together." Even before the show's pre- miere, Noriega's enthusiasm for the program was evident. "Deli- cious food has always been cen- tral in my life as some of my favor- ite memories have been in the kitchen eating and cooking with my family and traveling across the world enjoying fantastic meals. Now, I'm thrilled to share my fa- vorite recipes and lifelong passion for cooking with Food Network viewers," he recently shared. Throughout the series' six half- hour episodes, Food Network promises that "Franco takes view- ers on a culinary journey, sprin- kling in tidbits of his Latin Ameri- can and Italian background along with cooking tips and tricks," ex- ploring everything from cheese- covered arepas with chorizo and vegetable ceviche to crispy par- mesan lemon asparagus, decon- structed tiramisu and ooey-gooey lava chocolate chip cookies in pre- viously aired episodes. In the fifth episode, chef Franco invites viewers to taste a Peruvi- an-inspired feast — what he dubs the perfect comfort food. "Crispy and fluffy baby arepas with melt- ed cheese and chorizo are the per- fect appetizer," the episode de- scription promises, "and there's nothing more comforting than juicy pollo a la brasa with crispy skin, smothered in a spicy green sauce. Papas huancaina with a spicy cheese sauce makes for the perfect side, especially when paired with a Pisco Sour." Finally, during the series' up- coming Season 1 finale, Franco tackles brunch, sharing his recipe for piled-high Avocado Toast be- fore crafting an elevated take on Tex-Mex Huevos Rancheros, com- plete with fried tortilla strips then covered in homemade salsa, re- fried beans, crema and fried eggs. Bursting with flavor and Fran- co's flair, the Season 1 finale of "Hot Dish With Franco" airs Satur- day, Nov. 4, on Food Network.
