Born June 21, 1974, in Greenville, SC, Greg was the son of Sandy and Tom Housel of Shelby, NC and the late Earle Cogburn of Greer, SC. Greg is also survived by two children, Katie Cogburn and Courtney Cogburn of Lyman, SC, and a sister, Ginger Burnett (Shane) of Duncan, SC. DONALD HUGH SMITH Donald Hugh Smith, 84, of Lawndale, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Born in Cleveland County, on February 22, 1939, he was a son of the late Lester Smith and Selva Hicks Smith. Mr. Smith served our coun- try in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he is preced- ed in death by his brother, Joe Smith; and three sisters, Ann Elliott, Hilda Crotts, and Grace Elliott. He is survived by his wife of two sons, Scott Smith and Dustin Smith; a daughter, Lisa Mobley; a grandson the mother of his children, Faye Smith; and a sister, Geraldine Bassett. A celebration of life service was held June 2, 2023 at St. Peters United Methodist Church with Mr. Ronnie King officiating. MATTHEW SHANE DUNCAN Matthew Shane Duncan, 35, of Blacksburg, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023. Born in Spartanburg, SC on August 18, 1987, he was the husband of Brooke Bailey Duncan. Surviving Mr. Duncan are his parents Thomas and Rhonda Bridges of Blacksburg, sons Carson and Carter Duncan, of Blacksburg, daughter, Madi Duncan of Blacksburg, brothers, Jeffery and Chad Duncan of Gaffney, also surviving Mr. Duncan is the mother of his children, Sara Duncan of Union, SC. In addition to his biologi- cal parents, Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents. SAMUEL JASON FULTON Samuel Jason Fulton, 47, of Cherryville, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023. Born in Cleveland County, on January 13, 1976, he was a son of the late Paul Gilbreath Fulton and Betty Morgan Fulton. Mr. Fulton served our country in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his sister, Angela Shuda and husband, Tommy of Gaffney, SC; and a broth- er, Andrew "Drew" Stephen Fulton and wife, Sarah of Kings Mountain. Born October 10, 1945, in Cleveland County, NC, Janet was the daughter of the late William D. Sisk and Maude Drewery Sisk and was pre- ceded in death by two sis- ters, Marjorie Lemons and Sarah Elam, and two broth- ers, Jimmy Sisk and Ronnie Sisk. PHILLIP BRANDON McLAMB Phillip Brandon McLamb, 41, of Shelby, passed away on May 27, 2023. Born in Myrtle Beach, SC, he is the son of Sue L. Rippy of Shelby and the late Joseph McLamb. Mr. McLamb served our country in the U.S. Army. In addition to his father, he was pre- ceded in death by his broth- er, Garrett McLamb; and grandparents. In addition to his moth- er, he is survived by his brother, Michael McLamb of Shelby; and half-sisters, Sally Averette of Farmville, Tyler McLamb and Andrea McLamb, both of Sanford. Born in Gaffney, SC, he was the husband of Linda Hampton Gordon and the son of the late Floyd Sr. and Lillian Queen Gordon. Mr. Gordon served our country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. In addition to his wife, Scott is sur- vived by his three children, Matt Gordon and wife, Katie, Amanda Gilfillan and hus- band, Jason, and Adam Gordon and wife, Ashley; a brother, Mike Gordon and wife, Dale; a sister, Cathy Gordon; ten grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law, Bobby Hampton and Bobby Collins.
