She was born in Gaston County, NC, daughter of the late Charlie Clayton and Mary Ella Sellers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Wayne Bess; son, Robert Wayne Bess; daugh- ter, Patricia Church; sisters, Ruth Hoyle, Edna Craft; brothers, Earl Sellers, Walter Sellers, Chatman Sellers and J. L. Sellers. She is survived by her son, Stephen Bess (Betty), Gastonia, NC; daughter-in- law, Karen Bess; son-in- law, Mike Church; brother, Herbert Sellers (Sue); sister, Mary Jackson; four grand- children; five great-grand- children; and four great- great grandchildren. Born in Blacksburg, SC, he was the widower of Martha Foster and the son of the late Lewis and Vera Roberts Foster. Surviving Mr. Foster are his children: Danny Foster, Patty Cochran, DeAnn Foster, David Foster, Alex Foster; a step-son, Chris Gardner; two sisters, Doris Gorman and Shirley Allen; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters: Libbie Upchurch Parsons, Kings Mtn. NC, Norma Upchurch Moore, Cheraw, NC, and Penny Upchurch Hamrick, Grover, NC. Born in Cleveland County, on March 15, 1963, he was the son of the late Elmer Odell Wise and Verlene Mosteller Wise. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Wayne Davis. Survivors include his two sisters, Darlene Lewis and husband, Bryan of Fallston and Patricia Davis of Vale; and longtime companion, Cindy Stines of Lincolnton. The funeral service was held January 24, 2023 at Reeps Grove United Methodist Church. The buri- al followed in the church cemetery. SHERRAN HUFFMAN CAMERON Sherran Huffman Cameron, 59, of Kings Mountain, NC passed away on January 16, 2023. Sherran was born on December 30, 1963 to Clyde Huffman and Gloria Dean. DON McSWAIN Don McSwain of Shelby passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023. Mr. McSwain served in the U.S. Military and also served in Vietnam. A native of Cleveland County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Laddie and Mary Jane Jones, and she was the wife of the late Rev. Harold "Bud" DeLozier. She was also preceded in death by her son, Richard "Ric" DeLozier; five brothers, Ivey Jones, Palmer Jones, Winfred Jones, J.D. Jones, and Lewis Jones; and five sisters, Bonnie Lee Jones, Etta Jones Branton, Anna Katherine Causby, Dorothy Jones Palmer, and Betty Jones Bowen. Mrs. Delozier is survived by her son, Phil DeLozier and wife Alice of Shelby; daugh- ter, Cindy Goforth and hus- band Jamie of Forest City; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. DOROTHY HYDE Dorothy "Dot Dot" Hyde, 74, of Shelby, went to be with The Lord on Friday, January 20, 2023. Born in Greenwood, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Harold and Ruby Miller Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Doug and Benny Brown; and sister, Stella Baber. She is survived her hus- band, Shannon Hyde of the home; son, Jason Hyde and wife Jennifer of Shelby; sister, Brenda Campbell of Bostic; two granddaughters; and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Long served our coun- try in the US Air Force and received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award.
