Jim Koury is a seeker of personal truth, and desires to empower oth- ers to find their own personal truth, whatever it may be. He is also an ac vist who is not afraid to speak his mind, and ruffle some feath- ers, if necessary. His main objec ve is to get people to think and think for themselves. He espouses Aristotle's mantra, "It is the mark of an educated mind to en- tertain a thought without accep ng it." Jim does not force his views on others but just puts them out there for folks to think about and discard if they wish. Welcome to the February issue of Diversity Rules Magazine. The months seem to fly by, do they not? Wow. This month's feature is an interview with Kyle Motsinger, compliments of Mike Bahr. Kyle's story is an inspira onal one, and I am sure you all will enjoy reading about him. As per Mike's interview, "Kyle Motsinger was born and raised in the middle of cornfields in a small, con- serva ve town outside of Peoria, Illinois. "I grew up singing Broadway tunes by a tractor," he remem- bers. He moved to NYC a er college, where he performed in Off-Broadway produc ons, and released two al- bums and several singles including "Dark Shadows", based on the gothic six es series and film by Tim Bur- ton. The music video for the song starred Kathryn Leigh Sco from the series and premiered to much fan acclaim at the Dark Shadows conven on in Los Angeles. As Kyle Motsinger approached his mid-thir es, he began to feel that he wasn't where he wanted to be in life. He channeled that frustra on into a batch of new songs that appear on his upcoming album. His new single is "Bad Years," and it muses on his life's struggles and finding joy in conflict." As usual, there are other great features in this month's issue. Joey Amato takes us on a tour of Jacksonville, FL. It sounds like a great place, despite all the non- sense going on in that state poli cally. UGH. Do not get me started. LOL. Addi onally, Tony Guadagnino returns with an essay on Valen ne's Day, along with Diane Lang asking the perennial ques on of "Who Am I?" Something all of us ask ourselves, and do not seem to find the answer right away, if ever, some mes. There are other great stories and features in the Feb- ruary issue that I am sure you will enjoy. One miss- ing regular is Stu Schwartz. He had an obliga on this month which prevented him from submi ng a col- umn. I am sure he will be back in March. For those living in the great northeast, February can be a cold one. Stay warm, and once we get through it, we will be home-free. Sort of. At least spring will be in the air. LOL. Who knows, right? Mother Nature can be a fickle creature some mes. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the February issue. Keep chugging forward. That is all we can do. See you all in March.
