Jim Koury is a seeker of personal truth, and desires to empower oth- ers to find their own personal truth, whatever it may be. He is also an ac vist who is not afraid to speak his mind, and ruffle some feath- ers, if necessary. His main objec ve is to get people to think and think for themselves. He espouses Aristotle's mantra, "It is the mark of an educated mind to en- tertain a thought without accep ng it." Jim does not force his views on others but just puts them out there for folks to think about and discard if they wish. Welcome to the September issue of Diversity Rules Magazine. It is hard to believe we are almost at the end of the summer! The me is flying by! Remem- ber, though, summer does not officially end un l September 21st! This month's feature is non-binary musical ar st "The Oracle." THE ORACLE returns this month with a new visual for "Cloud 9 Angel," the final chapter of their debut EP Lost Amulet. The track is magical, dreamy, ethereal; it celebrates the abundance of nature by offering a moment of surreal escapism. Reflec ng on the fantas cal whimsy of the song, THE ORACLE and co-director Laura Weyl @metametagasm shot its visual in several iconic NYC loca ons including the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, and on the historic car- ousel in Prospect Park. "Cloud 9 Angel" is one of the six tracks on THE ORACLE's debut EP from August 2021, Lost Amu- let. In the album, the nonbinary queer femme art- ist blends a love of poetry with soaring vocals, a futuris c sound, and deeply emo onal narra- ves. "Cloud 9 Angel" stands apart from the other moody tracks on the EP due to the hopeless ro- man cism and naivete of the lyrics and sound. I hope you enjoy The Oracle's feature and their new visual for "Cloud 9 Angel." As usual, there are many other great features along with the regular columists and guest contributors. We welcome back Joey Amato, Tony Guadagnino, and Diane Lang. Check out the other diverse features as well. Are you a writer, musician, poet, or other type of cre- a ve person looking for a venue to express yourself in but haven't been able to garner the a en on you want? Have a great rest of summer, and enjoy the arrival of fall later in the month. It has been a great summer, weatherwise. Oh, and yes, get registered to vote if you have not yet done so. We need ALL OF YOU to get out there and vote. The more conserva ve Re- publicans we can remove from office, the be er. RO- EVEMBER IS COMING. Time to take back our county from these vile, religious based fascists! More on the elec on as we get nearer to Roevember. My Two Cents A Message From The Editor James R.
