Where: Main Street, Lattimore, NC. More Info.: Lattimore Fourth of July Celebration on Monday, July 4th! The parade will begin at 9 am. At the conclusion of the parade, a patriotic program and bluegrass entertainment will be featured at the recreation park of Lattimore Baptist Church. Concessions and lunch will be sold by the Lattimore Baptist Youth Department to raise funds for youth projects. This year's entertainment will be provided by country/gospel quartet, Carolina. Entries are needed for the parade! To enter fl oats, cars, etc. in the parade should line up on Towery Road at 8:30 am. What: Canning Workshop Cleveland County Extension Center, 130 S. Post Rd., Suite 1, Shelby, NC. On July 6th, take part in a hands- on workshop to learn to preserve some of the bounty and delicious fl avors of summer. You will learn the basics of home food preservation by learning to safely can low acid foods with a pressure canner. Another workshop will be held at the Extension Center on July 12th when participants will learn to preserve high acid foods using a water bath canner. This workshop will also include Freezing Basics. Each workshop has a $10 Registration Fee that should be paid in advance. Workshop supplies and recipes are included.
