In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Carpenter; and daughter, Maranda Carpenter. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Richard Welch Sr. and Eula Mae Hamby Welch and was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Smith Welch, three brothers, Harold, Jimmy, and Charles, and two sisters, Evelyn and Helen. Mr. Welch is survived by his children: Richard Welch III, Ann Adams (Rickie), and Elaine Jones (Earnest), all of Kings Mountain, NC; siblings: Billy Welch of Gastonia, NC and Joyce Green of Kings Mountain, NC; and six grandchildren: and fifteen great grandchil- dren. RICKEY MCDANIEL Rickey McDaniel, 69, of Grover, passed away on June 20, 2022. He was born April 7, 1953, in Cleveland County, to the late Lloyd Coleman McDaniel and Vivian Martin McDaniel. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Sanders, Jean Pearson, and Linda Kaye McDaniel. Left to cherish his mem- ory is his wife, Linda Kay Black McDaniel; son, Ricky Dale McDaniel, daughter, Melissa McDaniel Webb (Harry); brother, Danny Ray McDaniel; three grandchil- dren, and three great-grand- children. CHARLES JACOB DAY Charles Jacob Day, 46, of Grover, passed away on Sunday, June 19th, 2022. Born in Shelby, North Carolina, he was the son of Charles Donald Day and Catherine Blanton Day. In addition to his parents, Charles is survived by his son, Grayson Day; his broth- ers, Anthony Day (Kim) and Neal Day (Dianne); his sis- ter, Vickie Day Alexander (Joey); his life partner, Stacy Brown; and his stepchildren, Chloe Ernst and Elijah Ernst. Born in Cleveland County, on January 15, 1947 she was a daughter of the late Pete Mull and Essie Costner Mull. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dean Shoup; three brothers, Earl Mull, Robert Mull and Wayne Mull; and a sister, Dorothy McCurry. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in- law, Barry and Leta Shoup and Aron and Kiley Shoup, all of Lawndale; a daugh- ter and son-in-law, Angie and Homer Tessneer of Lawndale; a brother, Walter Mull of Waco; four sisters, Betty Mellon of Casar, Pat Carpenter of Waco, Marlene Parker, and Jeanette Canipe both of Casar; and eight grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
