Passage to Ponder "They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yield- ed a fruitful harvest; he bless- ed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds dimin- ish. Then their numbers de- creased, and they were hum- bled by oppression, calamity and sorrow; he who pours con- tempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste. But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks. The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths. Whoever is wise, let him heed these things and consider the great love of the LORD." (Psalms 107:38 -43, NIV ). God bless you and keep you. We welcome you to all ser- vices. Continued from last week: When Peter and the 10 dis- ciples chose Matthias to re- place Judas as the twelfth dis- ciple, Saul (Paul) was still big in temple worship. He didn't believe Jesus was their Messi- ah. He persecuted all who be- lieved different, and accused them of blasphemy. He would have them put in prison, then killed. Saul received Jesus Christ through a miraculous vision. He didn't spend three years with Jesus in his earthly ministry as the twelve had do- ne. This is why Paul couldn't replace Matthias as the thir- teenth disciple. God had plans for Saul. He saved him on the way to Da- mascus and changed his name to Paul. He separated Paul from the apostles who taught only the Jews, that Jesus was their Messiah which they cru- cified, but is alive. Now God set the Jewish nation aside for crucifying Jesus, and set his attention toward the Gen- tiles and believing Jews. This is why He called Paul to go in- to the world of the Gentiles to preach his Gospel of Grace (I Corinthians 15:1-4). The dispensation of the Body of Christ and God's grace is where we are today and have been for the last two thousand years. How Paul was persecuted and martyred next week. Faith In Christ Every answer to ALL of life's questions is found in Je- sus Christ. The Apostle Paul said, "And ye are complete in Him." Do you believe it? The Word tells us He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. He is our all in all. As Christians, we need to exercise this truth. Do not hes- itate to offer Christ as the an- swer for the needs of a lost and dying humanity. When a lost soul brings a need to you, let your first answer be "you need Jesus." He is the answer. If on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Whenever a disagreement starts to tear us apart, may we seek God's grace and wisdom in the Scriptures, the counsel of mature believers, and power of prayer. Let's strive to "be of the same mind" in Him (vs. 2). How can you apply God's grace and wisdom to a cur- rent battle of personal prefer- ences? Why is prayer vital as you face this conflict? So many trials come into our lives and along with the busi- ness of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? Pastor Roger Tabb will be ministering October 31 in the morning service. Come and be blessed by the Word. You will not be disappointed . We have now fallen into fall. The sad thing is, so many of God's children have fallen in- to a failed state. The Bible says in the last days these things would happen. My prayer is they have an ear to hear what the Spirit is trying to speak in- to their lives and bring back into the grace of God. There are so many things Jesus said would happen in the last days and it's so sad that Satan has deceived them and they think they are now happy. But sad- ness will appear. Pray that a repentive spirit would be birthed into their lives. Remember to pray for the sick, those in hospitals, in nursing homes and any that are downtrodden by life. May we be about the Mas- ter's business. The "Gospel" is a strong man's religion. Most of our prayers are "help, help, help." But, the Word in Hebrew 4:16, tells us to come boldly to the throne with our request. When I was a child, if I thought Mom or Dad were not going to give me what I was asking for, I whined and cried. (This seldom worked). When I was pretty sure the answer would be yes, I simply went to them and made my request. See the connection? We can- not do God's part, but He will not do our part. We must be- lieve enough to go boldly be- fore our Father. Then, we shall obtain mercy and find grace to help in our time of need. How do I know? Because the Word says so.
